GameHi has launched the pre-open beta test for their first-person-shooter Sudden Attack today. This beta phase isn’t to be confused with closed beta or open beta, but instead a middle ground in between the two.

Along with the beta, a few events have also been launched. For example, if you play for a certain amount of hours, you receive an in-game weapon.

Sudden Attack is a free-to-play game which is mostly popular in South Korea, but has since been localized to the United States and Singapore. I’ve played the game, and I honestly think it’s a lot of fun for a free game and has a lot of potential. The game is still in its beta stages, so there’s still room for improvement. You can download the game over at the official website.

Piracy has been an issue for a long time. Even before Napster was made mainstream people were recording songs off the radio and selling bootleg copies. Well, the game industry is no different and one company in particular has been hurtin’ especially bad; Ubisoft.

It seems that the publisher is so fed up with piracy that they have plans to combat the issue with their own firepower. Yves Guillemot, head of Ubisoft, speaks of the piracy problem:

“Altogether on console, the piracy is low. On the PC the piracy is quite a lot. We are working on a tool that would allow us to decrease that on the PC starting next year and probably one game this year.”

So what do they have cookin’ over at Ubisoft? Let’s hope they aren’t getting ideas from EA as we saw how well that was recieved with Spore.

The King of Fighters XII
hasn’t even hit store shelves globally yet and already reports are coming in that the game’s online feature is experiencing things such as lag.

Well, it looks like the developers have taken note and are planning on releasing a patch to address such issues:

“While not all players experienced these issues, an update for the game will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28th for the PlayStation 3 which should help improve the overall quality and stability of online play for everyone.”

Kotaku reports that the Xbox 360 version will be getting a similar patch at an unannounced date.

It seems that LEGO is gearing up to launch a Prince of Persia themed series of their iconic bricks. This is apparantly a marketing deal that Disney signed with LEGO to promote the movie coming out next April.

Anyways, pictured above is a snapshot of the Prince of Persia LEGO series that was recently shown off during Comic Con and from the looks of it they are exactly what we’d expect; LEGO toys.

If this is your kind of thing expect to see the Prince of Persia LEGO sets hit shelves right around the franchise’s big screen debut.

As you can see, the pack will feature InFamous’ main character Cole McGrath as Sackboy.

When more details along with a price point are announced by Media Molecule we will be sure to keep you updated.

Early this month we let you know that Capcom was gearing up to launch an iPhone/iPod touch port of their popular Resident Evil 4 title. Well, the day has come as the game has officially been spotted on the App Store for $7.99.

Despite its somewhat high price (for an app, anyways) this game is sure to be a hit because well, it is Resident Evil 4 after all, right?

It looks like Red Steel 2 isn’t the only Ubisoft title getting delayed as the publisher has recently announced that their highly anticipated Splinter Cell: Conviction will also be getting pushed back until early 2010.

Ubisoft didn’t state a reason for the delay but an educated guess could point to the fact that games such as Modern Warfare 2 come out right around Conviction‘s previous release date.

Either way, expect Splinter Cell: Conviction to hit store shelves sometime during Q1 of 2010.

The concept of the original Red Steel made gamers everywhere anticipate the game. However, once it actually hit the market it was often criticized for its clunky controls and various glitches in the gameplay.

Along comes Red Steel 2, a game looking to remedy all of the gripes found in the original Red Steel, and more. Unfortunately, Ubisoft has announced that the game is getting pushed back until early 2010.

This delay will come as a huge dissapointment to gamers looking to get their Wii MotionPlus sword weilding on.

Infinity Ward has released the first multiplayer footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, introducing the AC130 killstreak reward. The game looks absolutely stunning, and miles ahead of the first Modern Warfare title.

I was worried that the single player modes would be heavily concentrated on in the sequel, potentially sacrificing on the improvements to the multiplayer aspect of the game. The first game’s single player campaign was very short, which is in contrast with the multiplayer’s long lifespan which lives on to this very day.

Modern Warfare 2 will be released worldwide on November 10th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
