Yesterday, Harmonix released the master list for the Rock Band DLC to be released this Tuesday for the Xbox 360 and Thursday for the PlayStation 3. Included in the list are the recently revived Blink-182, which will be coming to my city very soon. Weezer and Kiss will also be joining the roster.

Nintendo released a video-on-demand service in Japan for the Wii a while ago. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard any word for a possible international release for this service.
Lionsgate’s president of digital media, Curt Mavis, hopes to deliver their mass-media to the Wii’s broader audience, as opposed to just horror and action movies ideal for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 markets.
“I imagine the Wii’s movie store will launch worldwide soon,” said Mavis. “The essential point is that the game machine is already connected into the TV, and we see it as a major conduit inside the home to bring movies via the Internet into the television.”

LucasArts has announced today at Comic-Con that Force Unleashed will be seeing a new DLC package very soon. The DLC will include a new level based on the deserts of Tatooine. The level is a direct extension of the “dark side” ending of the game. Players will play as the Secret Apprentice and be able to interact with characters such as Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker.
In addition, a special edition of the game will also be released, titled Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition. The special edition contains every DLC package released, including the one announced today. An exclusive third level will be featured on the disc, which takes place in Hoth to destroy the Rebel Alliance.
Both the DLC and special edition will be released come this holiday season. Make the jump for the trailer. However, be warned, as it contains some major spoilers if you haven’t completed the original game.
Rag Doll Kung Fu, when it was originally released on the PC via Steam, was one of the better indie titles, and players to this day are still playing the game. Developer Qi Studios, which is actually just one guy, Mark Healy, creator of the game, has released a new, updated version for the PlayStation 3 on the PlayStation Network.
In case you didn’t know, Rag Doll Kung Fu (the PS3 title is Rag Doll Kung Fu — Fists of Plastic), is a rag doll based fighting game where the characters behave like rag dolls, responding realistically to combat by use of physics, something very few other fighting games do. Fists of Plastic isn’t anything like the original game, it’s build on a brand new engine and features all new visuals, and is a PS3 exclusive and a download only title — it can be downloaded for only $10 on PSN.

Those $10 don’t get you much though, as Rag Doll Kung Fu has a rather short single player campaign. Called “challenges”, which vary from surviving for a period of time against an opponent, to using specific attack skills to defeat an enemy. While the challenges are great fun and serve as a way of getting familiar with the game, it doesn’t have a story of any form. Because of the realistic physics, the gameplay is different from other fighting games. In Fists of Plastic, you have to time your attacks and defends, instead of just pressing a button. Players can also use the surroundings to their advantage, climb ledges, rooftops etc., which brings a great depth to the gameplay. However, the challenges can be completed in less than an hour, which leads us to the multiplayer part…
The game offers four player multiplayer, which is great fun, however, the multiplayer portion is strictly offline-only. Also, because of the limited amount of selectable characters and settings, even the multiplayer portion gets boring after a while. It’s great fun… For a moment. Online multiplayer in this game is more wanted than in any other, as the offline modes and multiplayer is simply too shallow.
Technically, the game shines. It looks gorgeous (think Little Big Planet), and its style suits the gameplay perfectly. The music is also inspired by old Kung Fu movies, further creating a memorable atmosphere.
Overall, Rag Doll Kung Fu — Fists of Plastic offers a great visual and unique look, however, it’s very shallow and could really use an online multiplayer mode. The game feels more like a tech demo or actually, just a demo than a real game — despite the $10 price tag.
The Good:
Charming visuals
The Bad:
Shallow
Lack of online multiplayer
Overall score: 5/10

After months of learning about the game’s existence, we finally have the first footage of Gearbox Software’s upcoming cel-shaded “roleplaying shooter” game, Borderlands. The game will feature four player co-op and a good amount of guns, according to the trailer.
Borderlands is scheduled for an October 20th release in North America and on the 23rd in PAL regions. The game will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. 2K Games is calling the game a first in a franchise, so expect more installments of the game sometime in the future.
Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney announced that they will not be developing a new Unreal Tournament game for a very long time, making Unreal Tournament 3 the last memory we’ll have of the series for several years.
“Unreal Tournament is certainly a major long-term priority but we’re planning not to release a major retail game in the series for several years,” Sweeney said. “So we have that effort somewhat on hold while we work on a few other initiatives.”
Sweeney also mentioned that Epic will continue to support the creation of third party mods in the long run, saying that Epic will “open up the engine to more people to use freely and use cool stuff.”
