What you see above is a recently released 7 minute video detailing the PlayStation Motion Controller. While we heard briefly about the technology at this year’s GamesCom, we haven’t heard anything too substantial since its E3 ’09 announcement.

However, this video may fill the void as it gives us a look at the controllers history, technology and a brief look at some early software. The interesting tidbit included in the video, however, is the fact that the Playstation Motion Controller will include both rumble capabilities and an analog trigger.

Well, Natal, are you scared yet?

It was recently announced that those who preorder Tony Hawk Ride at GameStop will be rewarded with the ‘Quiksilver All ’80s All Day Level’ for use with the game.

According to the press release this level mimicks a Quiksilver event help in December 2008 where Mr. Hawk himself took gold. Furthermore, it allows players to “skate on a full 80′s style vert ramp, dressed in an authentic Quiksilver retro wardrobe, executing a special, vintage trick list” along with come face to face with an “’80s version of Tony Hawk”.

Will this help spurr Tony Hawk Ride sales? Maybe, but not as much as top notch game play would. Will it deliver? We’ll have to wait until November 17th to find out.

Croteam has recently released the above informerical for their forthcoming Xbox Live Arcade/PC title Serious Sam HD, notifying us all of the game’s awesomeness.

According to the commercial, the game runs at 6005 polygons per krundle which is made possible by their crack team of developers and all sorts of technology none of us would understand.

In all seriousness though this trailer gives us a look at the visuals featured in Serious Sam HD. As fans of the series are probably able to tell, all this game is, is a graphically enhanced version of Serious Sam: The First Encounter. Yes, awesome.

Having recently announced that the Xbox 360 Elite would be getting a price cut to $299, it would only make sense that Microsoft would then announce a new, higher end model.

Well, it seems that a recent listing on Amazon.de (Germany’s Amazon) has notified us of just that, an Xbox 360 with a 250GB hard drive, Forza Motorspot 3 and 2 wireless controllers all for the price of €280 or about $379.

While the listing has since been pulled, I think it’s safe to assume that Microsoft will announce an Xbox 360 Uber Elite leading up to Forza Motorsport 3‘s October 27th release date.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: the Crystal Bearers character designer Toshiyuki Itahana speaks about how Square-Enix is working hard to push the Wii’s capabilities to its fullest. Nintendo’s home console, of course, is not as powerful as its competitors, so it’s really up to the developers to make use of every possible tool available to them.

“We were extra careful about things like making sure to including exciting and heroic highlight scenes at regular intervals in the scenario, and using the visual capabilities of the Wii to its fullest potential,” Itahana said. “Even right now, and for as long as time permits, the development team will continue to pour their efforts into the presentation and sound for a final product that looks and feels great.”

Graphics aren’t always everything, but when it’s a Final Fantasy title, there are certain expectations on the line. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: the Crystal Bearers will be out December 31st.

A forum post on NeoGAF reveals that Sega will be releasing a budget priced Phantasy Star Portable this October. Included with the package comes a UMD which contains a three-episode story feature which covers the story called Phantasy Star Universe Chronicle.

Surprisingly, the opening cinematic for Phantasy Star Portable 2 of the game will also be included with the said UMD. This is the first time we’re hearing of a sequel or the game. The packaging mentions that the game is due for release this winter in Japan. No other information is present at the time.

Titan Studios recently posted on their blog addressing some of the key issues with their recent strategy game Fat Princess. Players were reporting instances of significant lag and connection failures, so like any developer should, they’re getting right on the problems. The reason behind the lag is due to a flawed matchmaking system, which may match you with a person with a very high ping to the servers.

The developer claims they already have a fix in testing for the lag issues. As for the connection failures, the patch is currently going through official Sony testings, so we can expect a fix for everything very soon.

Users on forums everywhere are reporting that downloaded files on the Xbox 360 while using the new dashboard come at smaller sizes. For example, Call of Duty 4 comes in at around 200MB smaller, and Battlefield: Bad Company comes in at a whopping 1.6GB smaller. The reason behind this may be due to new file compression formats.

In case you have the new dashboard and want to make room for your HDD, you need to reinstall the games in order to take advantage of the compression. Here’s a small list of games, via GamersReports, that are smaller in size:

  • Call of Duty 4 0.2GB smaller
  • Call of Duty: WAW 0.1GB smaller
  • Gears of War 2 0.4GB smaller
  • Halo 3 0.6GB smaller
  • Battlefield: BC 1.6GB smaller
  • SFIV 0.4GB smaller
  • Left 4 Dead 1.3GB smaller
