One of the biggest advantages about buying a PC game over its console counterpart is the large variety of user created mods. Left 4 Dead, and soon to be Left 4 Dead 2, in particular has a very large library of mods thanks to the tools provided by Valve.
To remedy this console disadvantage, Valve has recently toyed with the idea of porting the popular Left 4 Dead 2 PC mods to the Xbox 360 version. In fact, one of the game’s developers, Yasser Mailaka, recently told OXM UK the following:
One of the things I’d like to do is allow these modules that are being released on the PC to somehow integrate with Microsoft’s system.
So, while these plans are no where near final it is definitely a possibility and is something we will most likely see soon after the game’s November 17th release.

Remember way back in June when we told you about a group of people dedicated to boycotting Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2? Well it seems that Valve is going above and beyond to change their minds. It was recently made known that a few of these boy cotters were flown to Valve’s head quarters to get a bit of alone time with the forthcoming title.
According to Kotaku, one boy cotter by the name of Walking_Target has said that the game seemed well balanced and in no way felt like a rushed job. Additionally, he expressed high hopes for the game and has went on to say that he is confident that Valve will make a great game.

If you are fed up with your stock Wii Guitar Hero controllers Logitech has an offering for you — What you see above is Logitech’s Wireless Guitar Controller for Wii that will hit retailers in October for $199. This controller reportedly has a maple neck, metal frets and a rosewood fingerboard, making for a true to the art experience.
Additionally, there is also the Logitech Wireless Drum Controller for Wii that will also ship in October for $229. This controller apparently uses hardware similar to that found in professional digital drum sets so the quality is just as high as the above mentioned guitar controller.
Either way, you’re still getting the same gameplay value from these controllers as you are from the controllers that ship with the game. But, if you have to have the best, these are up there.

Think the swine flu is all done with? Check this out — According to Joystiq, it seems that a number of PAX 2009 attendees have confirmed cases of the swine flu.
So folks, if you were in attendance and have flu like symptoms, you may want to head to your doctor. However, the CDC has said you only need to worry if you’re in a high risk group (sickly, elderly or very young) or if your symptoms get severe.

EA Sports has recently announced that the FIFA 10 demo will be made available over Xbox Live, the Playstation Network and for the PC on November 17th.
European gamers, on the other hand, will be getting the demo on September 10th, one week prior to us Americans.
If, however, you don’t want to get your hands on the game before you physically get your hands on the game, you’re going to have to wait until it hits store shelves for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 20th.
There has been an onslaught of quasi kung-fu inspired games, mostly making a homage to the genre in form of a spoof, like Rag Doll Kung Fu and the upcoming Plastic Ninjas (to some extent). Invincible Tiger is another one of those games, and accomplishes most of what it sets out to do.
In Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao, you assume the role of a kung-fu fighter who battles his way through a myriad of Ninjas and bosses. The whole game has a great feel of 1970′s Bruce Lee kung-fu movies, complete with funny dialogue that has deliberately been dubbed incorrectly, the punch sounds and, of course, classic 1970s Hong Kong music to accompany everything. While Invincible Tiger is a 2D game, it has great 3D backgrounds which add to the mood and setting of the game, and if you happen to have 3D glasses, it’ll even pop out in full 3D mode. It’s also not strictly a 2D scroll game, as you’ll be limited to one “window” or zone at a time, where you have to clear out all enemies before you’re allowed to move on. This is great for focusing action on one place at a time, however, the action in Invincible Tiger can get quite repetitive, which means you can’t just quickly skip places like in most other 2D games by just “running and jumping” to the end; you actually have to finish everything, meaning lots and lots of button mashing. It seems that Sega is gearing up to launch an all new 2D high definition Sonic game sometime in the 2010. Currently, the game is codenamed Project Needlemouse and Sega has released the above trailer showcasing said game.
GameSpot sat down with associate brang manager of Sega America, Ken Allough, who commented on the game:
Old-school Sonic fans have long asked to see Sonic return to a more 2D style of gameplay. Many liked the daytime stages in Unleashed, but wanted to see a game that plays purely similar to the early games of the Genesis. Project Needlemouse is that critical first step that brings Sonic back to his 2D roots.
So folks, tease yourself with the above teaser trailer and then wait from Project Needlemouse’s impending 2010 release.
When Infernal was originally released on the PC a few years ago, it wasn’t all that good, but still offered a few good hours of fun and some interesting concepts. Years later, the game has been ported to the Xbox 360, and while the developers have had all that time to improve what was wrong with the original game, they have done pretty much nothing. In fact, it’s even worse than the original.
Infernal is a third person shooter, where players assume the role of Ryan Lennox (who actually looks a lot like Ryan Reynolds), an agent who’s stuck in the middle of a war between heaven and hell. And he’s not just “sticking around”, he’s taking matters into his own hands, after Heaven “fired” him, he now works for hell. Well, the setting is interesting, at least. The action is your standard shooter, however, “standard” becomes a big word when Infernal features sluggish controls and an almost unusable cover system. It seems as it deliberately gets you stuck into cover when you need it the least, and vice versa, which not good for an action game. On top of that, the aiming system is far from perfect, and getting a headshot takes a lot longer to aim than it should be. As for headshots on moving targets; you can pretty much forget that. Despite the title, you do have a chance to own the beautifully customized Beatles: Rock Band Xbox 360 showcases above, but the chances are slim, unless you’re willing to part with a couple bucks of course.
The best chances you have of securing yourself the Xbox 360 is by bidding on it via an auction set up by Microsoft over at eBay. Of course, the bid is currently at $3,100 with 9 days remaining. The second option you have, is to download the 360 exclusive Rock Band song, ‘All You Need is Love’ and you will be automatically entered into a drawing for one of the consoles, obviously giving you less of a chance of winning.
According to the eBay Auction, all proceeds will be donated to the Doctors Without Borders USA charity. Sure, you’re paying a ridiculous price for an Xbox 360 but at least you’re doing it for a good cause.

Now, I’m all for Obama (woo change!), but if he keeps trash talking video games, we’re going to have a problem. His latest speech took a shot at the Xbox where he once addressed American kids and told them to get off the Xbox.
Below is an excerpt from his speech:
I’ve talked about your parents’ responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and get your homework done and don’t spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with that Xbox.
In all honesty, if you take offense to this you need to look at the picture as a whole; the United States is going through a severe obesity epidemic and kids are playing video games and drinking soda more than ever. While I love video games (obviously) if you’re playing them to the point where you can’t see your toes anymore, you may want to turn the console off and go play some basketball, or something.
