2K Games has officially opened the doors to the BioShock 2 website. The flash-heavy website (which takes its time to load), offers the usual treats in form of screenshots, videos, a forum and a way of pre-ordering the game. BioShock 2 will be out in February next year.
Capcom has revealed the release date of the Wii exclusive Resident Evil game. Called Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero, the game will be released on December 1. The game is not a new title by any means, but a remake of the 2002 GameCube title of the same name, which will receive a minor visual overhaul with added motion controls, just like Resident Evil 4 did for the Wii.
Developer Naughty Dog has patched Uncharted 2, fixing a number of issues ranging from display issues to multiplayer connectivity issues (you can read the full change log here). The developer has also announced a “first ever Double Cash Weekend,” which started at 11:00 AM PST today, and continues until 11:00 AM PST on November 2, and will give double cash (just like double XP in COD 4), to players during the time. Players can then spend the money on upgrades etc.
Yesterday we reported that the Left 4 Dead 2 demo included references to unannounced DLC, two of them, to be precise, but Valve’s Chet Faliszek has stated that those names are placeholders only, in case they decide to release DLC. Faliszek said,
If you’re reading in the forums and you’re reading about the “Miracle” DLC or whatever, that’s test code. To get tested through Microsoft certification we had to do test scenarios with DLC. We haven’t actually come out internally with what we’re going to do yet.
Seeing that Left 4 Dead has received DLC packs, there’s no indication that the sequel won’t. After all, DLCs are big business, just look at Bethesda and Fallout 3.
Rockstar’s controversial Manhunt 2 game — which has had its fair share of attention and controversy — will be released on the PC via Direct2Drive next week, and will be slapped with an AO rating, meaning “Adult Only”, the toughest rating any game can receive.
The PC version will support 3D monitors, so you can indulge yourself into even more gore, and will retail for only $30 when released next week. Unfortunately, the release is for North America only.
From November 1 (or tomorrow), US retailer Target will run a Wii games promotion, where you can buy two Wii games and get a third one free. Luckily, there are no restrictions, and the deal applies to all Wii games (but only Wii games).
If you didn’t know, Tekken 6 made its way onto store shelves shelves on October 27th in North America and October 30th in Europe. But already Namco Bandai is announcing that they have shipped 2.5 million copies of the game.
Of course, this doesn’t exactly showcase the game’s success as these numbers focus on units shipped, not units actually sold. We’ll have to wait until the title has been available for at least a week before we see those numbers.
Anyone planning on picking up Tekken 6 if you haven’t done so already?
Microsoft has announced today that they are setting their sights on Xbox Live members with a modded Xbox 360. And by setting their sights on, I mean they are issuing a massive banning.
A Microsoft spokesperson said the following to IGN:
“We have taken action against a small percentage of consoles that have been modified to play pirated game discs. In line with our commitment to combat piracy and support safer and more secure gameplay for the more than 20 million members of our Xbox LIVE community, we are suspending these modded consoles from Xbox LIVE.”
So, any of you readers with a modded Xbox 360 notice that you can’t log onto Xbox Live anymore?
Now, we’ve seen several Modern Warfare 2 commercials that show off things like multiplayer gameplay and the game’s plot but Walmart‘s commercials puts a bit of a spin on things.
Included above is said commercial where 2 guys are talking about the game and, of course, talking shit to eachother just like you could expect online when Modern Warfare 2 hits store shelves for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 10th.
Legendary game maker Tim Schafer, who’s known for taking some wild chances and coming out on top in terms of game design, brings his latest endeavor, Brutal Legend, and alongside it, a piece of Jack Black as well.
Brutal Legend can best be described as an adventure game with a lot of rock elements with the humor from Jack Black, who’s not only known as an actor, but also a rock enthusiast. The game is a third person adventure game where you control Eddie Riggs, a roadie who’s on a mission to save the heaven of heavy metal from an evil lord who’s holding the whole thing hostage. It even includes a great cameo from one of the best known heavy metal characters, Ozzy Osbourne. The feeling of heavy metal is present in every fiber of this game. And even if you’re not into heavy metal, the great story, the funny dialogue and the gameplay will draw you in. READ ON »
