Bring out the massive list of games delayed to 2010 and make another entry: Sony has confirmed that EyePet has been delayed to April 4, 2010 instead of the original “Fall 2009″ release date. EyePet will still be the first title to use Sony’s new motion controller camera, which is set for release in the Spring of next year. Microsoft’s competing product, Natal, is scheduled for release late 2010.

In addition to EyePet, 12 other motion sensing games have been announced, ranging from LittleBigPlanet to Resident Evil 5, which will receive updates once the hardware is out. Check out a demo of the PS3 motion control camera after the break. READ ON »

Konami has pretty much offered the only viable contender to EA’s FIFA series, the PES, or Pro Evolution Soccer series, which has been a torn in EA’s eye for almost a decade. Developer and publisher Konami has revealed that they’re looking to add motion controller input to the series, as PES producer Shingo Takatsuka mentioned to IGN, saying that the company is “aggressively” looking into both Project Natal of Xbox 360 and the PS3 motion controller as well. However, the most obvious choice for motion controllers, the Wii, wasn’t mentioned.

Disney has confirmed that the upcoming platformer Epic Mickey is in development and will be exclusive to Nintendo’s Wii. While concept art has circled the web for the past few weeks, the title was officially confirmed by Disney and developer Junction Point by nothing less than a cover on GameInformer. However, no details about the game have been released yet, as people are eagerly awaiting the unravel in the GameInformer article, slated for release in the very next issue.

activisionlogo

It was recently made known that Activision has recently filed a trademark on the Call of Duty name when used with “pre-recorded movies featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure, music, theatrical performances and/or animations”.

Now it’s no secret that Activision has made more than enough money off of the Call of Duty franchise and is looking to make even more money off of Modern Warfare 2. However, if they come out with Modern Warfare The Broadway Show, I won’t be buying Modern Warfare 3.

Microsoft is proud to announce that 3 of their console’s greatest titles are going to get the Platinum Hits treatment, and I’m sure you’d agree with their decision.

Those titles in question are none other than Street Fighter IV, Left 4 Dead and Grand Theft Auto IV in addition to Saints Row 2 and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

With the Platinum Hits comes lowered prices with Joystiq reporting they will be lowered to right around $29.99.

xbox360wirelessnadapter

GameStop has recently put up a listing for the Xbox 360 Wireless N network adapter that we’ve been hearing about for some time now that lets us know of both a release date and price.

Of course, GameStop has been known to put up phoney release dates as a place holder until the manufacturer actually speaks of one but they currently have the adapter listed as releasing on October 3rd at $99.99.

A steep price but if you’re looking to ramp up your wireless connection this is your answer.

left4dead2

It was recently made known that Valve is preparing to launch a $25 million Left 4 Dead 2 advertisement campaign in hopes of hyping up the zombie FPS. To put this into comparison, Vavle spent about $10 million on the ad campaign for the original Left 4 Dead, so you can see they are a bit more serious about its sequel.

The decision to put such a heavy chunk of change into L4D2 most likely came about after it was made known that it was pre-ordered a tremendous amount more than the original.

Expensive ad campaign or not, you’re still not going to be able to get your hands on Left 4 Dead 2 until its November 17th release date for the Xbox 360 and PC.

onlive

Not too long ago we first heard of OnLive a company that promised a whole library of games that would be hosted remotely which you could then play on your TV. At the time, such an idea seemed rather farfetch’d considering the latency issues behind the whole operation but now it seems like a much more viable idea.

The company has recenty announced that they have secured funding from Autodesk, AT&T, Warner Brothers, Lauder Partners and Maveric Capital and hope to launch OnLive sometime this winter. CEO Steve Perlman seems to think OnLive’s digital distribution game model is the future and comments:

“Over the last decade, we’ve seen an enormous upheaval in the media business as the written word, photos, music, and video have been steadily moving away from physical media to online delivery.”

Just as we had told you a few days ago, Infinity Ward has aired an all new Modern Warfare 2 trailer during Monday Night Football which we’ve included for you above.

While there are a few snippets of game play this trailer focuses mainly on plot but also does a good job showing off the game’s beautiful visuals.

Modern Warfare 2 will be out for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 10th, but you already knew that.

Dead Space was a decent horror shooter that was released last year on all platforms except the Wii, which, like so many other times, was simply underpowered to run a port of the game. However, EA has been working on a Wii version that is substantially different, not just with toned-down graphics, but a game build up from scratch. Now, Wii owners get to experience some space shooter horror.

Dead Space Extraction is an on-rails shooter, and while that doesn’t sound intriguing at first, it’s done in such way that it works rather well, the horror elements are still there, and the feel of the original Dead Space is very much present. Extraction uses a lot more storytelling and narration than the original game, acting as its prequel, and tells the story of what really happened before help arrived and the original Dead Space began.

The game is an on-rails FPS the entire time during the 10 missions, and the action (and horror) is frequently interrupted by cut scenes, which are done formidably and move the story forward — even though you know how it’s all going to end (if you played the original Dead Space, that is). However, being an on-rails shooter, it means that you cannot explore nor even look around during the missions (or the cut scenes, for that matter), and you can’t decide when to run or walk, how to approach a corner etc. All this removes a lot of the horror elements found in the original Dead Space, however, the game’s storytelling does make up for some of it.
