It’s been a while since we’ve seen a WW2 real time strategy game, so Order Of War is a highly welcomed addition to the RTS base. While most RTS games are either focused on the ancient times (Age of Empires) or the future (Command & Conquer, Supreme Commander), WW2 RTS titles are few and far between. While Order of War brings some decent and fun WW2 action, a few bugs and a lacking multiplayer prevent it from becoming a great game.

Order Of War lets players control either the US Army during the invasion of Normandy (and onwards. towards Berlin), or the German Army during the Russian campaign into Nazi Germany — yep, you can play as the Nazis and defend the “Fatherland” from zhe Russians. The game will instantly immerse you into the action, from the brief and snappy mission descriptions, to the polished action itself. You will control anywhere from a few troops going into a covert battle, to hundreds of soldiers and several divisions, when landing on the beaches of Normandy, for instance. READ ON »

Zombie Games are nothing new — they offer tons of fun usually involving slaying masses of zombies, not known to be the smartest enemies out there. A new downloadable-only title on Xbox 360 and PS3, Zombie Apocalypse, sets out to give players bite sized nuggets of zombie action, while remaining fun. Sad to say, the game fails to meet those goals. But it does a few things well.

Clearly inspired by Left 4 Dead and similar survival horror/zombie games, Zombie Apocalypse is set in a world where a disease has turned pretty much everyone but yourself into a zombie, and it’s your job to clear the mess, slaying thousands of brainless zombies throughout the campaign. It’s a third person/isometric perspective action game where you move with the left analog stick and fire your weapons with the right, and they’re basically the only two controls you’ll need, as you massacre your way through hordes of enemies. You’ll start off with a basic assault rifle, and then find more powerful weapons as you progress throughout the game. READ ON »

bestbuypromotion

It seems that Toys R Us and Amazon.com aren’t the only ones holding a buy 2 get 1 deal as it was recently announced that Best Buy too is hopping on the boat.

As you can see from the above leaflet there is a good amount of games included in the promotion such as Wii Sports Resort, Halo 3: ODST and Prototype. In fact, every new game priced $59.99 or under will qualify for this promotion, go figure!

If you want to get down on this promotion you better do so fast as it runs from October 25th – 31st.

borderlands

It seems that some lucky gamers were able to get their hands on a copy of Borderlands before ahead of its October 27th street date. But for those of you who weren’t able to get their hands on a prerelease copy, don’t’ be discouraged as reports are popping up that the game won’t even be playable until October 26th, singleplayer included.

But what gives? Well it seems that 2K Games wants everyone to wait until the game is available to everyone but it has left some gamers unhappy. One German gamer sent the following tweet to Gearbox:

I own a legal PC-copy of Borderlands, and we can’t even play the Singleplayer cause of the shitty Securom-protection

But honestly though, is it really Gearbox‘s fault that retailers are breaking the street date? Just be patient, wait it out and everything will be fine, I promise.

monsterhunter3

If you didn’t know Capcom charges for online Monster Hunter play in Japan, frightening right? What’s even more frightened is Capcom is pondering whether or not to charge for Monster Hunter 3 online play here in the United States.

Don’t get too scared though as virtually every other Capcom title here in the states is free to play online so they will most likely keep with the current business model and do the same with the U.S. release of Monster Hunter 3 .

The game will be out for the Wii in March of next year.

A new Left 4 Dead 2 trailer has hit the webs that has reportedly been leaked. Exactly how it leaked, we don’t know, but the chances of Valve purposely leaking it to stir up hype sounds about right.

Anyways, check out the video, it doesn’t feature any game play but it does feature some nice cinematic action for your viewing pleasure.

Left 4 Dead 2 will be hitting store shelves for the PC and Xbox 360 on November 17th of this year.

We’ve known that Modern Warfare 2 would be making its way onto store shelves on November 10th for some time now but Activision has kept quiet about the minimum PC requirements. Today, GameStop has put up a picture of the back of the box that reveals said minimum requirements and I have to say, they don’t look too bad.

Below are said minimum specs:

Processor: AMD 64 3200+ or Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or better
Memory: 16 GB free hard drive space / 512 MB RAM (XP) / 1GB RAM (Vista)
