Back in July we let you know that Need for Speed Nitro would be hitting store shelves for the Wii and Nintendo DS on November 16th. Today, EA has announced that the game’s development has gone smoother than expected and the game now has a release date of November 3rd.
If you’re a fan of the Need for Speed series and are looking for a hardcore racer, this most likely isn’t the game for you. However, if you’re a casual player looking for a fun racing game to play then you should definitely check out Need for Speed Nitro. I mean, it is for the Nintendo DS and Wii, after all.

Since Team Fortress 2 popularized the cartoonish look, many games have followed suit, most noticeably Battlefield Heroes and a few indie titles. Another game has joined the club, the not-so-serious Mini Ninjas, which, for a developer like IO Interactive, is certainly new grounds. IO is mostly known for the Hitman franchise, so few might be skeptical in how the developer handles a title meant for a far younger audience. Rest assured, the young audience will probably love Mini Ninjas, while the mature one will find aspects of the game enjoyable as well.
The story of Mini Ninjas is set in ancient Japan, where a Ninja Master sends out his students to investigate an Evil Samurai Overlord, but the students get captured. The Master sends his last two students, Hiro and Futo, who set off after the Evil Samurai Lord, who has used his powers to turn ordinary animals into his henchmen. The story is very similar to classic Samurai and Ninja movies, and especially Samurai Jack, if you ever crossed the cartoon series. READ ON »

Killzone 2 only just hit store shelves earlier this year and just now reports are coming to light that says Killzone 3 is already in development.
News comes to us from the Official Playstation Magazine who says Killzone 3 is to be one of Guerilla Games‘ secret projects for 2010 and is under heavy development over at the studio.
Just how much stock should you put into this report? Well, the Official Playstation Magazine is pretty credible considering the obvious but Killzone 2 took 4 years to get onto store shelves so I think it’s safe to say we will be seeing a delay, or two.

Just as we had told you a few weeks ago EA’s Rock Band has officially been released to the App Store for the iPhone/iPod touch at $9.99. I’ve personally always had problems spending 10 bucks on an iPhone app, but that’s just me.
Anyways, the iPhone version of Rock Band will feature 20 tracks several game modes including multiplayer and the ability to play as the guitar, bass, vocals and drums just as we had reported to you previously.
And, of course, if 20 tracks aren’t enough for you, you can always purchase additional tracks through the App Store.

Charles Martinet, the legendary voice actor behind the voice of Super Mario, spilled the beans on a new Mario game, saying his latest gig involved voice acting for a new Mario game that is not New Super Mario Bros. Wii or Super Mario Galaxy 2 — both of which are announced and will ship this year and next year, respectively. He wrote on his Twitter page, “Mama Mia!!!! I’m going to Seattle this week to record a new Mario game! Woo Hooo!!!!! I can hardly wait!!!!1″, followed by another tweet saying, “Awesome new Mario Game! And it’s not NSMB Wii, and it’s not Galaxy 2, but it’s going to be crazy fun!”. As usual Nintendo doesn’t comment on rumors, but you can always guess.

The upcoming update of the Xbox 360 dashboard and firmware will lock out unauthorized third party memory units. Third party memory units, especially “unauthorized” ones, usually hold far more capacity — several GBs more –e than Microsoft’s own units, and are also far cheaper. Some of the third party units feature connectivity with SD and microSD cards as well. If you’re one of those using them, you’re out of luck, and you should save your stuff on an “authorized” unit. Meaning shedding lots of cash for it.
Speaking PLAY Digital Media conference, EA’s Peter Moore has described sales model for regular, retail disc-based games as “burning”, noting that EA is focused on digital distribution and Moore advised other publishers to do the same. Moore noted that disc based games might completely go away within the next ten years.
…we’ll recognize it 10 years from now when we tell our grand kids, we’ll tell them we used to drive to the store to get shiny discs that have bits and bites on them and we’d place them in this thing called a ‘disc tray,’ and it’d whirl around…and they’ll go ‘What?’”

Several large retailers, including GameStop and Amazon, have listed the upcoming Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 2 bundle. The bundle is set for release on November 10, and will retail for $399.
The bundle includes a black Xbox 360 with a MW2 face plate, a 250 GB hard drive and two black controllers. A great deal, especially considering the extra controller and 250 GB hard drive.
