What’s one thing you’ve always wanted your Xbox Live Avatar to have? A purpose? Yeah, me too. But honestly, Microsoft has just announced that they will now be allowing your Avatars to purchase a virtual pet which will then accompany them.

Just what kind of pets you ask? Well how about  Large Dog, Pug Dog, Dog in Bag, Cat, Siamese Cat, Long Haired Cat, Goldfish, Guinea Pig, Monkey, Bird or Pony? Of course, to buy any of said animals you’re going to have to shell out 240 Microsoft Points or $3.

For those of you wondering exactly when will this exciting (/sarcasm) new feature will hit Xbox Live, it’s tomorrow.
