Video game sales surpassing movie sales in UK
UK news outfit Daily Telegraph — not the most trusted news source, but what the hell — reports that from September 2008 to September 2009, video games brought in £1.73 billion in revenue, while £1.2 billion was collected by the movie industry, both figures come from their respective industry sales chart trackers.
Video games have long been known for raking in at least just as much as the movie and music industries, if not more.
Last year, the video games revenues in the United States totaled over $11 billion, a figure expected to be a bit lower this year due to the economy.
