Finally, a Battlefield game which will support widescreen mode on the PC. Actually, the first Battlefield game ever to do so. Developer DICE apparently stopped spreading BS that widescreen gives players an extra advantage, and has finally come to terms with the rest of the industry: Bad Company 2 for the PC will support widescreen. At least according to a forum post by a DICE employee.

After days of lingering and doing mindless PR, Valve has finally unveiled the next unlocks for the Demoman, which are… drumrolls… Sword and shield! Didn’t expect that one, did ya? Neither did we. The first of two unlocks is the sword, a new melee weapon, which will increase your speed and heath for each enemy you kill, up to four enemies.

The second unlock is a shield, which reduces the damage given by Pyros and other explosions, and paired with the sword, gives a charging ability, resulting in critical hits. More details on the new page here.

It seems like the closed studio Pandemic is trying to go out with a bang, and that bang is The Saboteur, a WW2 action game, the last game from a once successful studio. It stars Sean Devlin, a tough-ass Irish race car driver who get stuck behind enemy lines in Nazi-occupied France, and he’s not taking any BS from Nazis, nos sir, he starts workign for the resistance, goes on mission after mission, raking up a ton of Nazi heads along the way.

This is not just another WW2 shooter, instead, it’s highly unrealistic and very fast paced. You play as Sean in a third person view, and your missions will vary from infiltrating Nazi bases, to blowing up railroads, doing sabotage and generally anything that pisses of your enemies. It’s set in Paris, and it’s pretty much open ended, meaning you can explore the city on foot, and in car, when you get one of those. Also, the city is riddled with Germans, and they’re constantly watching you and won’t hesitate opening fire if you even look suspicious. Which your Irish ass sure does. Read the rest of the review

Now here’s a funny and informative video, something you don’t come across very often now a days, entitled Modern Warfare 2 Myth Busters. If you can’t guess by the title, a group of guys test a bunch of myths found in Modern Warfare 2.

What myths, you ask? Well, they test if an EMP can stop a Nuke, if throwing knives can bounce and if even while using a riot shield you can get killed by a falling care package.

Anyways, check it out, its just as funny as it is informative, like I said before.

An unnamed source withing Bungie is rumored to describe Halo Reach as a “very bleak and violent” game, adding that it’s like “Gears of War with Spartans”. Halo Reach was officially revealed a few days ago (watch the trailer here), but there wasn’t much story or gameplay in it, just a confirmation that Master Chief is back. It’s also confirmed that the game will have elements of the Halo novel, titled Halo: The Fall of Reach — which is where the title comes from.

It’s always been known that Sony was losing a lot of money on each PlayStation 3 console, but since the PS3 slim was released, those costs have come down drastically. According to iSuppli, the PS3 slim now costs Sony $336 to manufacture, while it retails for $300.

The company says that the most expensive part is still the blu-ray drive, which costs $66, while the Nvidia RSX GPU costs $45, the 120 GB harddrive $38, and the Cell CPU $38.

While Sony’s still losing money on each console sold, it’s a far cry from the previous $850 dollar manufacturing price per console, when it was launched back in 2006.
