Valve has revealed the first piece of downloadable content for Left 4 Dead 2, an expansion which will feature none other than the four survivors from Left 4 Dead 1, united with the new survivors. Called “The Passing”, Valve’s Doug Lombardi described it as:

“The Passing will become the most important campaign in the Left 4 Dead story, as all the Survivors are being called together in one campaign. It will also be a huge offering of new gameplay content, with something new for every game mode plus a new uncommon common and weaponry.”

Does that mean it’ll feature 8-player co-op? We sure hope so!

The original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was an instant success when it was released two years ago, but Wii owners were left outside of all the fun, and when other consoles are enjoying the success of Modern Warfare 2, the Wii is still on the outside.

Not any longer. At least when Modern Warfare 1 is concerned. Modern Warfare Reflex is the Wii-port of 2007s Modern Warfare, and it sets to deliver, or rather, emulate the same experience that Xbox 360, PS and PC owners had in 2007. Did it accomplish that? Sort of, but not without issues.

The obvious additions to the Wii version are the new controls, and the obvious setback are the visuals. Most of the game is largely the same, it’s the same campaign as before, however, played through with the new controls, it somehow manages to feel new. It helps if you haven’t played through the Modern Warfare single player campaign in a while though. It also means the campaign brings with it the bad stuff from before, most noticeably: it’s very scripted and linear. But if you know Call of Duty, you know it’s too be expected. Also, it’s just as short as before, but again, it’s a port, so it is to be expected. However, given that it’s been over two years since the release of the original, a little extra content wouldn’t have hurt. Read the rest of the review

One of the more appealing concepts of certain RPGs, is that you can craft your own weapons. Well, if you’re into Team Fortress 2, your world just got a bit more exciting, as Valve has revealed that weapons “crafting” is coming to the game. As Valve puts it:

“Say goodbye to those enjoyable evenings spent complaining on the forums about which item in your inventory was the most useless, spraying anti-Australian racist hate speech all over Robin Walker, his lovely wife, and his beautiful children. EVERYTHING in your inventory now contributes towards something you actually WANT, and can build YOURSELF! If you’re super clever, you’ll even be able to craft new items before others can earn them the old fashioned way.”

So it’s not actually making new weapons, but rather, making existing weapons that you don’t have, crafting them from all the crap in your inventory.

A “performance” by American band Green Day is available on MTV.com, however, it’s not the band themselves, no, rather, it’s a rendered version of the band, appearing as if they would in the game Rock Band. You can check out the performance on MTV here.
