Yesterday we let you know that World of Warcraft was getting updated to version 3.3 adding a new raid and several other things like a new Looking for Group system. Well, it seems that Blizzard has thrown together a trailer of epic proportions called the Fall of the Lich King that details the story that the 3.3 patch focuses on.
After watching said trailer I almost want to start playing the game again but I don’t know if I’m willing to give up my social life that easy. Maybe when Cataclysm comes out.

Sure, Modern Warfare 2 has sold gazillions of copies, but according to analyst duo Evan Wilson and Michael Pachter, it’s not that important — Modern Warfare 2 accounted for “only” 22% of all game sales, which, according to the analysts, totaled over $1.5 billion for the month of November.
They also mention that the previous record was held by Halo 2, which had 20% of the total sales when it was released in 2004, with second place to Guitar Hero 3 at 12% when it was released in 2008. It’ll still mean MW2 gets another record, but percentage wise, it’s only a bit better than Halo 2 (even though it surpassed it sales by far).
The gift from the US government to gamers, America’s Army, an FPS shooter made for recruitment purposes (and a true “murder simulator” if there ever was one), has cost the US taxpayers $32.8 million dollars so far.
GameStop did some digging and found out that the original budget was $7 million, but the game’s budget ranged anywhere from $1.3 to $5.6 million per year the last 10 years, totaling 28.8 million for the three games that were developed during that period.
Valve didn’t just release a new TF2 patch yesterday, they also teased (in good Valve style) a new content update for TF2, dubbed “Mercenaries” update. If the video above is an indication, which Valve have stated that “it is”, TF2 players are in for a treat. When, we don’t know, but we’ll get to the bottom of this. More details here.
It looks like Halo: Reach isn’t the only one getting revealed at this year’s Spike VGAs as it was recently announced that THQ‘s UFC 2010 Undisputed will also make an appearance. This is apparently in leui of the fact that the game’s predecessor, UFC 2009 Undisputed is a nominee to win an award at this year’s VGAs.
Just like Bungie‘s offering, this will be the first time anyone has seen actual in game footage of the title and will also feature a special UFC guest appearance who will give commentary on the match.
You can check out the above teaser trailer but don’t expect anything in terms of game play.
Blizzard has just announced that the World of Warcraft version 3.3 patch has graduated from the PTRs and onto the public realms for all to enjoy. The most prominent feature of this patch is the IceCrown Citadel raid but it also includes sevral other features that are sure to make your time in Azeroth much more enjoyable.
First of all, there is a new Looking for Group system that will allow you to group up with players from other servers making it much easier to start an instance. Additionally, instead of having to wait for gorup members to summon a group to an instance, players will be automatically teleported to said instance once a group has been found.
And last but not least, Blizzard has taken a hint from the popular addon QuestHelper and placed several marking on the map letting players know what they have to do next for a quest like killing a certain mob or speaking to a certain NPC.
