Valve has always stated that whenever they release a free update for Team Fortress 2, player count and sales increase, which will probably happen with the latest update, “War”. To help more folks make a decision to buy a copy, they’ve lowered the price of the game by 50% this weekend, while at the same time it’s a free weekend for those who’d just like to try out the game. Oh, and by the way, the Soldier won the War update.

Major toy-maker Hasbro, which holds rights to Transformers and a ton of other franchises (and lots of toys), has sued Atari over a Dungeons & Dragons licensing deal, where Atari sub-licensed the Dungeons & Dragons game rights to Namco Bandai, without consent from Hasbro (or financial stake). Hasbro has responded by suing Atari for fraud and breach of contract.

Atari has dismissed the allegations, calling them “unfounded”. We’ll see how this one turns out, but it’s clear that there’s another obstacle in getting a D&D game out.

The first “real” trailer — one with some gameplay footage — of Command & Conquer 4 has been released, showcasing a GDI mission in progress. Looks like good ‘ol C&C, and there’s over 5 minutes of cool gameplay with developer commentary. Enjoy!

It seems that LucasArts is taking Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 quite seriously, as the publisher is currently developing the title in-house. LucasArts also developed parts of the previous game and outsourced some of the development. The PS2, Wii and PSP versions were done by Krome Studios, but it now appears that LucasArts will be doing all the work. The publisher has also been revealed to be hiring for new positions for new “unannounced projects”.

The Blu-ray disc association today announced that they’ve finalized the specifications for 3D on the media. 3D on Blu-ray will deliver 1080p resolution video to each eye, offering a smooth 3D experience. While it’s only a few who have 3D ready TVs, and the fact that there isn’t much 3D home content out there, that is set to change by the middle of the next decade, where it’s expected that the majority of households will have a 3D ready television by the year 2015.

You’ve probably heard of Demon’s Souls by now. You’ve heard that it was one of the hardest games you could possible own. And if you haven’t head about it, let us tell you right now: It’s the hardest game you’ve played in a long time. Not hard as in “please try again hard”, but rather, hard as in “ram-the-controller-in-your-face-hard”. Really, the challenge is epic. There’s are no rooms for error, and you’ll be dying so many times it’s impossible to count. Anyways, the review…

Demon’s Souls, is an action RPG much like Diablo, Dungeon Siege and Dragon Age. Only compared to Demon’s Souls, those games are for sissies. Demon’s Souls is the one that’s carved out of rock, and once you complete it, if you ever do, it’ll make a man out of you. Even if you’re a girl playing it, it’ll still make a man out of you. It’s that bad-ass. However, despite all the dying you’ll be doing, all the enemies you’ll be killing again and again through the level, the game still manages to feel rewarding. Which is a tough thing to accomplish, as you’ll most likely be threatening to destroy the game disc plenty of times. Only to play on and and have some more fun. Then die again. If you’re an avid online Modern Warfare 2 player you may have noticed that in some games you don’t have to reload, your ammo never depleates and there are a bunch of people running around firing the noob tube like crazy. What gives?

Well, it seems like a new glitch has appeared that gives everyone in the room unlimited ammo for every gun. I’m not quite sure how it’s done but Robert Bowling and Infinity Ward know about it and are hard at work remedying the problem.

Unfortunately, considering the lengthy verification process that Microsoft requires developers to put their patches through, there is no telling when there will be a fix to update this problem.

Will this cause Infinity Ward to reset the leader boards? Our best guess says yes, it will.

Another day, another addition to the “War” update of Valve’s Team Fortress 2. Last time, the Demoman saw a sword and shield, and now, the Soldier has been revealed to be getting a new rocket launcher unlock.

The new rocket launcher, called the “Direct Hit”, is just that, a rocket launched with a lot less splash damage and a lot faster rocket, meant for precision shooting, instead of the usual spray and pray. The new launcher has 70% smaller blast radius, but the rockets travel 80% faster and do 25% more damage on hit.
