Nintendo sells 3 million Wiis in December

NPD, the grand daddy of sales figures in North America, is reporting that Nintendo sold a whopping 3 million Wii consoles in December, which is up considerably compared to 2008, where it sold 2.1 million units.
One game can be attributed to much of that success, and that’s New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which sold over 4 million units since it was released back in November, making it second only to Modern Warfare 2.
