Normally when an accessory manufacturer releases a gun peripheral for any console it works through light detection. This new gun peripheral by XCM called Fire is quite different and is only compatible for the PS3. Why? Well, because it uses the same SIXAXIS technology found in the Dual Shock 3 controllers.

In other words, it senses motion like the Wii controller which will definitely make some of you cower in fear. However, based on the above video demonstration its functionality doesn’t look half bad.

No word on when the gun will be ready for consumers but it’s apparently 70% done so far.

In case you don’t know about Peggle, (and if you don’t, shame on you!), it’s one of the more innovative puzzle games over the past few years. You basically shoot down pegs with your cannon, and each level gives you an X amount of red pegs to shoot down with just ten balls. There’s more to the gameplay, but that’s the essence of it. Peggle has since its release found its way to PC, consoles, cell phones and basically anything else that has a screen and a few buttons.

Peggle Night is not so much a new Peggle game, it’s rather an expansion pack to the regular Peggle also found on Xbox Live Arcade. While we won’t do a complete run-down on all the features — and honestly, we expect you to know about Peggle by now — it’s safe to say that it’s the same good ‘ol Peggle. You have 10 balls, lots of levels, lots of colored pegs to shoot your way through, and most importantly, you have your special power ups, which are given every time you hit a green peg. Considering the success of the Halo franchise its no secret that Bungie is without a doubt sitting on a large amount of cash. And, with the recent earthquake in Haiti, it makes you wonder why a studio like Bungie hasn’t been pulling their weight. Well, now they are.

The studio has just announced that for everyone who puts a heart symbol as their emblem and plays in any online playlist this Wednesday and Thursday, they will donate 10 cents to the Red Cross up to $77,000. Additionally, they have also said that if you purchase a special edition shirt, they will give all of the proceeds to the Red Cross.

Infinity Ward and Activision, are you paying attention?

The Aliens vs. Predator Classic 2000 has been released on Steam, and includes the Gold edition and the expansion pack, and retails for just $5 on Steam. It’ll offer you some good nostalgia when the successor comes out in a month.

Ubisoft’s upcoming shooter I Am Alive was set to appear in stores later this year, but now, according to Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot, the game has been delayed until fiscal year 2011, which starts in April 2011 — quite a long delay. Ubisoft hasn’t done much to market the upcoming title either, after it was unveiled in 2008. The game saw some setbacks when it was moved from its original creators, Paris-based Darkworks, to a new developer at Ubisoft Shanghai.
