EA and DICE were very quickly to talk trash to Modern Warfare 2′s PC edition for not supporting dedicated servers (and rightfully so), but now it seems that Bad Company 2 won’t have real dedicated servers either. In a forum post, DICE revealed that in order to have a “dedicated” server, you must rent one from DICE, you can’t host it on your own hardware etc., which makes the dedicated servers only semi-dedicated, in order to “protect the game’s integrity on PC”, as DICE said. Furthermore, they revealed that the PC version won’t feature a console so users can input commands.

The Playlogic Game Factory developed Fairytale Fights has all the ingredients, or at least, it promises all the ingredients of a great download game. Cute visuals, interesting art style, and a sense of originality. However, reality is quite different, and the game ends up over promising and under delivering.

Fairytale Fights pits you, the player, against evil doers in the fairy tale world of Taleville, and you must, as usual, save the world. You can chose a character from four different fairy tale heroes, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, the naked emperor, or Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk). So far so good. Actually, that’s about it regarding the story, as nothing else really happens, and there certainly isn’t any great storytelling in the game. Read the rest of the review

When Sony revealed the box art for the North American and European releases, it was obvious that they were targeting different audiences, or at least they’re assuming that the audience would react differently to the covers.

As you can see above, the North American and European Heavy Rain Art box arts are quite different, where as the European is artistic and vague, with subtle suggestions to the game’s content and theme, the North American prominently features a woman — one of the main characters in the game, but without much clothes — on the box. The US cover has the same blood-soaked Origami figure, but just in case American gamers don’t get it, Sony made sure to put some tits and a gun in there as well.

Would Americans rather prefer the chick and some dudes with guns over the artsy mysterious stuff? Apparently, some would, prompting Sony to promise that they’ll offer the EU cover as a downloadable PDF, so NA owners can print it out and use it instead.

Honestly, we prefer the European cover as well. It’s something that would easy stand out on the store shelves. Unless you’re looking for games which featured loosely dressed women.

Nintendo has announced that the big brother of the DS family, the DSi XL, will launch in Europe on March 5. However, don’t expect the usual white color, as Nintendo will only launch with two colors, “Wine Red” and “Dark Brown”, and from the looks of it, we’d prefer Wine Red.

Netflix and Nintendo has finally confirmed what has been rumored for months: Netflix streaming is coming to the Wii. The service will be available this Spring, and will require a disc in the system in order to stream movies, which, by the way, can only be streamed in standard definition, 480p. Still, better than nothing, right?
