Back in November we let you know that Microsoft was gearing up to launch a wireless adapter for the Xbox 360 that would allow for 802.11n compatibility. Well, here we are a few months later and the product is still sitting at a rather expensive $99.99.

Luckily, our buds over at Amazon.com have discounted the device as their Video Game Deal of the Day dropping the price from $99.99 to $74.99. Of course, it’s still a steep price to pay to give your console wireless, especially when the PS3 has it out of the box, but what can you do?

We all know that the Wii isn’t exactly for the hardcore crowd considering most of the games are marketed towards casual gamers. However, there are in fact some hardcore games out there. Sega, for one, has been known to develop a few hardcore titles such as The Conduit and House of the Dead: Overkill.

Unfortunately despite the fact that these games exist for the Wii, they failed to sell a lot of copies. So, this has led Sega to say that they probably won’t be doing anymore mature/hardcore titles for the Wii.

Don’t be too discouraged as this decision could potentially change as some point in the future.

UK gamers love Modern Warfare 2, and the hype around the game hasn’t seem to slowed down since its launch back in November. According to GFK chart track, the game has remained on the top stop for the eight straight week, despite sales slowing down by 41 percent over that period. But it’s not like MW2 saw any serious competition from other games during the period. It was the first time a game was on the top spot for 8 weeks since Need For Speed Underground 2 topped the charts, a good five years ago.

Nvidia’s upcoming DirectX 11 graphis chip, codenamed “Fermi”, will, according to the company’s Facebook postings, support up to 32xAA — which is some rather serious anti-aliasing (Wikipedia entry on anti-aliasing, in case you’re not familiar with it).

Nvidia also revealed that the new chip, supposedly named GF100, will power the 3D playback of Blu-ray movies. The new chip is expected to be showcased at CES, with a launch in March.

The first review of the new year deals with a rather new and somewhat unknown FPS game Shattered Horizon, made by Futuremark Studios, the ones behind the very pretty Futuremark PC testing and benchmarking tools. Is their first venture into PC gaming a successful one? Read on to find out.

One thing you need to know abut Shattered Horizon right away is that it’s by no means a fully fledged game, it’s actually multiplayer-only, and serves more as a tech demo than a game — and this is also the biggest drawback of the “game”, as the pretty visuals come with steep hardware and software requirements, as the game doesn’t support Windows XP, and only runs on DirectX 10 and 11 (supported under Vista and Win 7). However, while this means that the game features somewhat gorgeous visuals, they’re aren’t justified by the hardware requirements, as it seems more demanding than Crysis at times, but certainly doesn’t look as good.
