
In true videogame fashion, a couple of Lionhead veterans have formed their own studio, called “Wonderland Software“. Their first game, called GodFinger, a “life simulation game”, has been announced for the iPhone and will be published by NGMoco, who’ve established themselves as one of the more successful iPhone game developers and publishers.
Attention gamers! The wonderful creation of Fallout 3 is available for 50% off on Steam today, so quite wasting your time and go get a copy (if you haven’t played the game, that is). It’s only $25 now.

Sony has announced that the highly anticipated God of War 3 will be released on March 16, and while they were at it, Sony revealed the final box art of the game, which you can see above (so you know exactly what to look for).

Ubisoft has announced that the post-apocalyptic, Moscow-underground based shooter will hit the shelves on March 16 in the US and three days later in Europe. The game will be released on both the PC and Xbox 360.

Nintendo has revealed that their handheld DS console has sold 125 million units worldwide, as of December 2009. If those aren’t enough mindblowing numbers for you, how about this: the Wii has solidified its lead in the current gen console war with sales over over 67 million units, after selling nearly 20 million units in 2009 alone. 20 million is the total amount of PS3s sold to date, which puts things into perspective a bit.

Whad’ya say about that, EA has released the Battlefield Bad Company 2 multiplayer demo on the Xbox 360, completely out of no where, taking us all by surprise. Well, not anymore, now that we know about it (and now that it’s downloading on our Xbox 360). You can grab the demo now (it’s 1.4 GB). The multiplayer demo will be open until February 8, a week before the release of the game. The demo will be out for PS3 users on February 4. PC users? Nothing has been announced yet.
There’s no denying it, Mass Effect was one of the finest action sci-fi RPGs ever made, and the sequel, Mass Effect 2, not only improves where the first one was lacking, it takes all the good stuff and makes it even better. For one, there’s a lot more action and shooting in Mass Effect 2, and that’s very welcomed for a game that supposed to be an “action game”.
The story of the Mass Effect universe is quite a complicated one, and you’ll certainly get more out of Mass Effect 2 by playing the first one — and we won’t dive into the story here because we don’t want to spoil it for you. For starters, Mass Effect 2 improves on a few things, most noticeable improvement is the new shooting mechanics, which now actually work. Visually, the game looks more interesting as well, with an added detail to art design and the surroundings (which tended to looks a bit the same though out the first game). READ ON »

Ubisoft has announced that the anticipated sequel Red Steel 2 will be arriving in the states on March 23, while Europeans will get the game a few days later. The game will retail for $50 or $60 with the WiiMotion Plus attachment, which is a pretty decent deal.

Noted hacker George “Geohot” Hotz, the man who hacked the iPhone, has announced that he finally hacked the PS3 through software only (and no mod-chip), and the hack has been released for folks to test and try out. He also plans to release the root key of the system, which pretty much means that copy protection on the PS3 is a good-bye.

Apple today unveiled the iPad, a touchscreen tablet which will set the standard for tablets for years to come. But other than that, it’s supports all iPhone apps and games, meaning the tablet can be used to play all the games released on the iPhone, either in native resolution, or upscaled. Also, the company released a new SDK which will give game-makers even more resources to work on titles for the new device. Prices range from $500 and up.
