Earlier this month we showed you what was the first of many Skate 3 developer diaries giving viewers an exclusive look at the game. Well, a new developer diary has recently been released this time giving us an in depth look at the story.
For those of you who don’t want to watch the video, Skate 3 will take off right where Skate 2 ended. The player has already established them as a superstar in the skateboarding world and will now take the next logical step; establish a brand. The objective of the game is to sell a million skateboard decks as opposed to gaining sponsors and what not, like the previous games. In this game, you are your own sponsor.
Skate 3 seems like it is shaping up to be a great addition to the Skate series. It will be out for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in May of this year.
With the forthcoming destruction of Xbox Live for Original Xbox titles, the question over whether or not Halo 3 would be getting shutdown upon Halo: Reach‘s release arose. Well, this does not seem to be the case as Bungie community manager, Brian Jarrad, has come forth to say the following:
“I dont think we would pull the plug, Halo 2 was the number one game until the Halo 3 lauch, and it was still supported until this April… I think it would be safe to say we wouldn’t be investing so much time into doing massive matchmaking updates and then just turn (Halo 3 online support) off and walk away from it.”
He continued:
Will we hope that people will migrate to Reach because it represents all of the good things from Halo 3 but better and more so? Sure, but I guarantee that there are hardcore gamers, like the pros who make their livelihoods off of playing Halo 3, who might take awhile to move over.
A wonderful fan video explaining what Bad Company 2 is all about and how to play, a video especially dedicated to all the Modern Warfare 2 players out there looking to get into Bad Company 2.
Game devs are getting ready for the North American Game Developer’s Conference, which kicks off next month, and while there will be many European and International developers present, GDC Europe has announced that their even will this year be held in Cologne, Germany, from August 16 to August 18, and will again be held at the same time as GamesCom, the Europe’s answer to E3 .
There aren’t many DirectX 11 games out there, as the DX11 hardware penetration still isn’t large enough, however, luckily more and more games are getting DX11 support, and that includes the upcoming Metro 2033. Developer 4A Games revealed that their 4A Engine supports a number of DX11 features, but we kinda still can’t help but noticing that the game still looks a lot like STALKER.

EA has planned this all along, offering day one DLC for free to new games in order to combat used games sales, and that seems to begin with the upcoming Battlefield Bad Company 2. The game will ship with a code, which will be assigned to their ea.com account, and that gives the player free DLC, not just once, but in the future as well.
Take poet Dante’s well known The Divine Comedy. Add that story to a game. Add a heavily inspired God of War gameplay to it. Mix it all up and you’ll get Dante’s Inferno, the new action game from EA. Despite its resemblance to God of War (a lot) and despite using a somewhat mediocre adaptation of Dante’s Inferno, it’s quite a capable game, with some of the grittiest horror you’ll ever see.
Dante’s Inferno follows your character through the nine circles hell, where you play as Dante, and where you don’t just go through the nine circles of hell, you hack and slash your way through it. One thing you’ll notice from the get go, is just how gory the game is, definitely enough to earn its 18+ rating. Throughout the game, you’ll see torture, lots of blood, despicable creatures, male and female nudity (and not the sexy kind) and a lot of other stuff that simply cannot be described. Nintendo is almost giving away the Wii for pennies, having the console (Wii Sports included) to retail at $199 — well, not really giving it away, but you get the point. Now analyst Mike Hickey from Janco Partners expects Nintendo to lower the price to $150, in order to sell as many Wii’s before Microsoft and Sony’s motion controllers come out. It kinda makes sense, but Nintendo would most likely do better with lowering the current model to $150, and introducing another at $199, one with more storage and perhaps a another game bundled in as well.
