EA has come forth today and given us 10 brand new screen shots showcasing their latest skateboarding title, Skate 3. From the looks of the screenshots, like the one included above, the game will stay true to the gameplay we’ve all come to know and love in Skate 1 and 2 while adding some updated graphics and, hopefully, new tricks.
EA is running a discount on the downloadable multiplayer title Battlefield 1943, which this week only retails for 800 MS points, or $10 (instead of the usual $15). This is most likely to sell as many 1943 copies as possible, since Bad Company 2 comes out in two weeks, and will pretty much stall 1943 sales for a while.
One of the best PS3 games of last year, if not the best, Uncharted 2, is set to receive some DLC on February 25, which will be followed with a multiplayer patch as well, which includes trophies for the multiplayer portion of the game. The DLC will include 6 characters from the original Uncharted, plus two new maps, which together will cost $6.
EA has done the RTS community a huge favor and released Command & Conquer Classics, which includes Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun (including the Firestorm expansion pack), and Red Alert. You can download the games here.
Gas Powered Games, makers of Supreme Commander (and the upcoming sequel), have announced Kings and Castles, another RTS which will be available on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. This time, Gas Powered Games plans to be quite open about the development of the game, and will post weekly videos about the process of making a game — the first video, introduced by GPG founder Chris Taylor, can be seen here.
Microsoft just announced Windows Phone 7, their newest phone operating system. This time, it includes Xbox Live as a fully integrated feature, with XBLA games as well. You can see a demo of the new phone OS and interface above.
If you’ve been playing Modern Warfare 2 online since it came out you’ve most likely been in a game with hackers. You know, unlimited ammo, no need to reload, low gravity or super speed? Well, it seems that the game’s Wii counterpart, Modern Warfare Reflex, is seeing some of the same problems.
As you can see from the above video, hackers have managed to wreck havoc on the game.
Let’s hope the developers are working to remedy this issue.
Thinking of joking around about a serious crime on Xbox Live? Well, you better think again because it could land you in a good deal of trouble. A Texas teenager who decided to run his mouth about shooting up a school found this out the hard way.
He actually went as far as saying actual names of his planned targets. Well, another gamer who was in the game up in Canada got wind of this and asked the teenager some questions which caused him to leave the game. Upon the gamer leaving, the Canadian phoned the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who launched an investigation into the matter.
With the help of Microsoft the gamer was traced to San Antonio, Texas where he was arrested.
Remember kids, even if its a joke there are people out there who will think you are serious.
Now that there is a ridiculous amount of content to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace, even the 120GB hard drive for the Xbox 360 is looking quite small. You probably know that there is a 250GB hard drive out there but it currently only comes in limited edition bundles. This brought about the question over whether or not we would be seeing a stand alone 250GB hard drive to fill the needs of those with storage issues.
Well, according to Xbox Live Product Manager Aaron Greenberg, we probably won’t be seeing stand alone 250GB hard drives any time soon. The reason for this? To keep them exclusive to the limited edition bundles. He comments:
“We did it with the Modern Warfare bundle, which, as people know, was a huge success, completely sold out. We’re excited to bring it back with the limited edition Final Fantasy bundle… We’re always evaluating, but for now we feel like the 120 is serving us very well as the standard offering, and then having the 250 as a limited edition is a good balance.”
Currently, I’m stuck picking and choosing a select amount of content I want because I only have the 20GB hard drive. I thought about upgrading to the 120GB but its high price kept me from doing so. This leads me to believe that even if Microsoft were to come out with a 250GB hard drive it would be damn over priced.
