According to rumors at MCV, developer/publisher Take-Two will cut around 20% of its global workforce, which could amount to over 400 positions (out of Take-Two’s 2,000). The cuts will reportedly be made both across developing and publishing sectors. Take Two has yet to comment on the rumors.

These days, EA is celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Sims, which was first released waaay back in January 2000. EA revealed that the franchise has sold over 125 million copies, generating over $2.5 billion in revenue for EA. The latest edition, The Sims 3, has sold 4.5 million copies world wide since its launch back in August 2009.

We previously reported that Square Enix shipped over a million units of Dragon Quest 4 for the DS, in anticipation of the game’s potential sales. Well, luckily for Square, sales trackers in Japan report that Dragon Quest 4 has sold over 1 million units in its first week, outselling the next 5 titles combined.

According to the upcoming issue of Game Informer, which has a special on LA Noire, the game will no longer be a PS3 exclusive. According to developer Rockstar, the games was indeed a PS3 exclusive in the beginning, but will now be released on the Xbox 360 as well. Game Informer has a lot more details in the upcoming issue, which will be in news stands in two weeks.

Considering just about every major video game franchise has either been turned into a movie, or tried to turn into a movie, it’s no surprise that Grand Theft Auto too is no different. However, you may be wondering why exactly haven’t we seen a movie based on the franchise? Well, if you’ve been around a while you’ll know that there is a movie from 1977 that is also named Grand Theft Auto, directed by Ron Howard.

Rights problems with Mr. Howard, including disagreements regarding the plot of the movie, made the project fall through. Although, that doesn’t mean we’ll never see a movie based on the franchise as some movie studio in need of money is sure to rekindle the project.

Yes, you read right: the soundtrack for Final Fantasy 13 will not only be out on CD and MP3, but also on vinyl, for all the audiophiles out there. However, publisher Square Enix has only announced the soundtrack and the vinyl for Japan — there’s no word whether it’ll be out in the West.

Are you still playing Halo 2 online? How about any other Original Xbox title? If so, you better get your last matches in as Microsoft has just announced that they plan to shut down Xbox Live for both the Original Xbox and Original Xbox games. Yes, that includes Halo 2.

The infinite downtime will actually go into effect on April 15th. I’ll have to hop on Halo 2 and relive the good ol’ days sometime before then. Who else is with me?

In the world of No More Heroes, set a futuristic society centered around bloody assassin games, we follow the main protagonist, Travis Touchdown, if you remember in the first game, fought his way to the top of the leaderboards and became the top assassin. However, we’re in a sequel now, and when Travis’ best friend is murdered as a retaliation for what Travis did, he gets back in the ring of the assassin’s, and once again, fights his way through hordes of assassin’s, slicing them up and killing them in every way possible.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, follows the same core principle of the first game, and why shouldn’t it — No More Heroes was one of the finest and most original Wii games to date. And also one of the bloodiest and most violent ones, a feat that the sequel gladly continues. No More Heroes 2 doesn’t just manage to improve what the previous game didn’t do well, it also manages to be one of the most entertaining Wii games in years. Read the rest of the review
