Digital download distributor, and Steam competitor, Direct2Drive has opened a dedicated European online store, where Europeans can now purchase games in their favorite currency; the Euro (instead of those pesky dollars). Right now, D2D has a special promo, where Europeans can get several games at high discounts, for instance, Red Faction Guerrilla for just €12.50.
PS3 owners have been watching in despise as PC and Xbox 360 players have been enjoying Mass Effect 1 and 2, and BioWare has once again confirmed their worst fears: Mass Effect is still an Xbox 360/PC exclusive.
Ubisoft has finally confirmed that the latest entry in the Splinter Cell franchise, Splinter Cell Conviction, will hi the stores on April 13 on Xbox 360 and PC (sorry PS3 owners).
Microsoft has discontinued the sales of the 120 GB Xbox 360 hard drive, sold separately, in Europe. The 120 GB drive is rumored to be replaced by a 250 GB one, just like it was done in Japan recently.
Nintendo’s head of everything Zelda, Eiji Aonuma, said in a recent interview that he “hopes to show something playable at E3″ this year. He didn’t mention how far in development the game was, only that it’s progressing fine. Well, we for one would like to see some Zelda action at E3, and we’re pretty sure everyone else wants too as well.
Back in April of last year was when we first heard of Fallout: New Vegas — a game originally thought to have been a standalone expansion for the critically acclaimed Fallout 3. Well, here we are almost a year later with a teaser trailer of the game. Unfortunataly, due to the fact that it is a teaser, there is no actual gameplay footage or anything of the sort. However, there is some good nitty gritty sceneray shots along with a shot of what is assumed to be the game’s main character.
Bethesda tells us Fallout: New Vegas will be in stores sometime this fall.
Talks regarding Microsoft‘s highly anticipated Project Natal have been going on for some time now and while we’ve seen what we thought to be a prototype model has been pictured various times. However, the Seattle Times has today shown of what they are saying is the first look at the Project Natal prototype. Now, there’s no telling if this is the actual product that will go into production but let’s hope not because frankly, this thing creeps me out.
In addition, the Seattle Times also gave us news that the Natal device will be built in the same factory that builds the ever-so-popular iPhone. Just in case you wanted to know.
Every year since 2004 EA has been running a simulation using the latest version of Madden NFL to predict the outcome of the year’s Super Bowl. And, with the Colts and the Saints in this year’s Super Bowl, the same could be said.
Using Madden NFL 2010, EA has predicted that the Saints will be victorious with a score of 35 to 31.
If you’re looking to make a bet on this year’s big game, make note that EA has been correct every year except last when the Giants upset the Patriots for a win.
The developers behind Skate 3 have just released their latest dev diary, this time taking a look at the robust Industrial District featured in the game. As you can see from the included gameplay, not much looks to be changed from Skate 2 to Skate 3, but honestly, what more could they add? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Valve has announced that parts of Steam will be down on Thursday due to a maintenance update.
Beginning at 6pm Pacific time Thursday February 4th, we will be performing software maintenance on some Steam servers. Some Steam services will be offline during this time. Affected services will include the Steam Community, in-game matchmaking or lobbies, downloading games from Steam content servers, and making purchases from the Steam store.”
Players will still be able to play games though, which is what matter the most, anyway.
