killzone2

With the release of Killzone 2, Guerilla Games hoped it would be to the PS3 what Halo is to the Xbox 360. Unfortunately, the game was plagued with problems and it failed to be what its developers hoped it would be.

Well, now their sights are set on Killzone 3 and rumors have just surfaced that the game will utilize 3D technology in addition to the Playstation Motion Controller. If this is true, Killzone 3 may be the baddest game on the market. Until other developers pick the technology up, of course.

Gamers everywhere were excited for the original Red Steel because it was supposed to really be the defining FPS for the console. However, when it made its way to shelves its awkward controls made it less than spectacular. However with Red Steel 2, Ubisoft is hoping to remedy that.

Anyways, Ubisoft has been kind enough to supply us with the above video showing off the gameplay to be featured in Red Steel 2. You can’t really tell if the controls are fixed because it doesn’t show someone wielding a Wiimote but from the looks of it, Red Steel 2 looks badass.

Red Steel 2 will be out for the Wii on March 23rd.

bungielogo

After Halo 3 everyone thought that Bungie wouldn’t be making a 4th game and then came Reach. Now, Bungie has been quoted to saying that Reach would actually be their last Halo game, but it seems that has now been taken back, somewhat.

Bungie’s Brian Jarrad, said the following:

“You know, it might be premature to say we’ll never ever, ever make a Halo game again. We sort of have a little special place for Halo in our hearts. But for the foreseeable future, this [Halo Reach] is it.”

Now that Bungie has broken free from Microsoft, anyone Microsoft deems worth can get their hands on Halo. But honestly what is a Halo game without Bungie?

pspgo

When the PSPgo finally managed to hit store shelves it was pretty much a flop. The concept was cool but the gaming community wasn’t ready to move to digital downloads only. At first, Sony seemed to ignore the fact that the PSPgo was pretty much a failure but now they’re coming clean on the subject saying the following:

“We wanted to find a way to give the consumers what they want, so if they didn’t want to go to a retailer they could stay at home and download. And we were hoping really to eliminate the piracy issue. Did the PSPgo confuse [consumers]? Yeah, I think the higher price point didn’t help matters any either.”

However, Sony isn’t done with the PSPgo, not by a long shot. They’re going to focus their efforts on informing consumers about the joys and advantages of having a PSPgo over the more conventional PSP 3000 or something similar.

Halo-Reach-logo

When Halo 2 came out, people complained that the pistol from the original game wasn’t present. When Halo 3 came out, people complained that the game wasn’t as consistent as Halo 2. Well, now that Reach is coming out, Bungie looks to be giving gamers nothing to complain about.

In a recent statement to CVG, Bungie has said that Halo: Reach will be their “greatest hits” title in the sense that they will take the best from all 3 games and mash them into 1. Let’s hope they deliver.

Street Fighter IV is undoubtedly one of my favorite fighting games of all time but currently it’s only on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. If I wanted to leave my house and play the game on the go, there was no option. Luckily for people like me who do want to get their SF4 fix on the go, Capcom has recently announced that they will be porting the game to the iPhone.

Included above is a trailer for the game supplied to us by GamePro which shows a quick match between Ryu and Ken. I can’t tell without playing it if the virtual stick actual works good but from the looks of the video it definitely seems usable.

Street Fighter IV for the iPhone will run you around $10 whenever it hits.

The PS3 is an awesome machine – it has arguably the best graphical capabilites of any console, free internet and some great games like Uncharted 2. If I had to pick the thing I like least about the PS3, however, is the damn install times times. It seems like just to play a game for the first time I have to wait a ridiculously long time.

Well, with the forthcoming launch of one of the console’s biggest titles, God of War III, SCE’s Christer Ericson has clarified via Twitter that the game will have no install times whatsoever. Pop in the disc and you’re good to go.

Rob Dyer, SCEA’s Senior VP of Publisher Relations, seems pretty optimistic about Sony’s upcoming motion controller, and thinks that developers will embrace it more than the Xbox 360 counterpart, “Natal”.

“My feeling is that we’re going to have a lot more games, a lot more innovation. It’s easier to develop for. You can use the same code base that you currently use for PS3 or 360 or even the Wii in order to get a motion controller game out. You can’t do that with Natal.”

Both Natal and the PS3 motion controller are set for release this Fall.
