justcause2

Have you gotten a chance to check out the Just Cause 2 demo? I personally haven’t but that doesn’t mean no one has. In fact, it was just announced that the demo has been downloaded a full 2 million times since its release. Avalanche Studios puts it in a more interesting way:

“Players have driven a distance equivalent to a trip from the earth to the moon and back four times; Panau Island has lost almost 30 million of its population (with approximately 2.5 million headshots, almost a million drivers hurled from hijacked vehicles and 27,000 Piñata kills); and players have base jumped the equivalent of a freefall through the Earth’s core, pole-to-pole, twice.”

Just Cause 2 will be out for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on March 23rd of this year.

ffxiiiiphoneapp

Final Fantasy XIII has just made its way onto shelves but only for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. If you’re looking to take the game in your pocket say, on an iPhone, you’re out of luck. However, Square Enix does have a FFXIII iPhone app for you but it’s not what you think, instead it’s a high resolution photo grallery.

Entitled the Final Fantasy XIII Larger-Than-Life Gallery the $8.99 app will give ou a bunch of exclusive images from Final Fantasy XIII. In addition to that it’s got an FFXIII branded clock and calculator. Sounds cool, I guess, but $8.99? No way.

It was bound to happen, Sony has come forth and put out he first advertisement for Playstation Move. I have to say, this is one of the funnier console ads I’ve seen especialy since Sony’s VP of Realistic Movements Kevin Butler takes direct hits at both the Wii and Project Natal.

He says you’re actually be able to use the controllers as fists like you would in real life instead of flailing your ahnds back and forth frantically (a la Wii Sports) and that Move will have real buttons. Obviously a shot at Project Natal.

I don’t know about you guys but Playstation Move seems to be my favorite of the 3 motion controlling solutions. Project Natal seemed badass when it was first announced but I’ve yet to see anything that REALLY catches my eye.

spiderman

Are you a GamePro subscriber? If so, the next issue will be giving us the first look at Activision’s new Spider-Man title called Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. We don’t have much to go by right now other than the title so we’ll just have to wait and see what the next issue of GamePro brings us.

On another note we don’t have any idea what console this will be on but imagine how cool it would be slinging webs with the Wiimote or even Playstation Move?

turtlerockstudios

If you’re not familiar with Turtle Rock Studios, they were the guys who originally started work on Left 4 Dead before it was picked up by Valve and the two studios were merged. Well, the studio’s original CEO Michael Booth has just announced that he will be bringing the studio back from the dead and is currently working on staffing it.

There’s no word on what the studio has in store for us but as soon as we know, so will you.

shinji

Shinji Mikami, the man behind the Resident Evil series who is also known for his work on Viewtiful Joe and Devil May Cry, has just announced that he will be starting a new studio based out of Tokyo called Tango.  The new will form once his current studio, Straight Story, finishes work on Vanquish, a sci-fi shooter set in a universe where the US and Russia are in a cold war.

Mikami says that while Tango currently has 13 employees, he hopes to see the studio reach as many as 100 within 5-7 years. And, with his experience, this goal doesn’t seem too far out of reach.

xbox360slim

In the past, Steve Ballmer has said that there would be “new form factors” for the Xbox 360 in the future but this was after a Xbox 360 Slim was denied over and over. However, Microsoft recently put up a job listing for a motherboard engineer and to top it all off, the above image just leaked out.

The above image is reportedly a pictur of a redesigned Xbox 360 motherboard that has been scaled down considerably, presumably for use within an Xbox 360 Slim.

If these rumors are true, lets just hope that the new consoles don’t suffer from the RROD like the original console.

skate3

The Skate series revolutionized the way we play skateboarding games, it took the Tony Hawk Pro Skater concept and pretty much blew it out of the park. Skate 3, the latest title in the series, looks to expand on that idea and give players the best skateboarding experience to date.

If you’re wondering when the game will be released, EA has just announced that it will be out in North America on May 11th and the rest of the world on May 14th. Be ready.
