A tipster sent us what appears to be art work for the upcoming Half Life 2 Episode 3, however, we can’t confirm it at this point (we’re still investigating, we’ll update this page accordingly). Click the image for full view.

Update: We can now confirm that this is not the official art work for the game, rather, it’s concept art from Pene Menn, a Korean artist.

Looking for more Left 4 Dead goodness? You’re in luck — Valve just let us know that a Left 4 Dead comic will be made available through Xbox Live in the near future. Of course, this is most likely to hype players up for the forthcoming ‘The Passing’ DLC pack that is also set to drop on Xbox Live later this month.

The comic will give us some insight into the happenings of Louis, Bill, Zoe and Francis and explain how they meet Ellis, Rochelle, Coach and Nick.

There was no word on a price for the comic so until there is let’s just assume it’s going to be free.

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has just let us know via his Twitter that Modern Warfare 2 has officially surpassed the 25 million unique players mark. While we don’t have exact numbers, Bowling says that the majority of the players are on Xbox 360 with the PS3 in a “close” second with the PC version in third.

This is a pretty amazing feat and even more reason for Infinity Ward to be working on Modern Warfare 3. If they sort out that mess with Activision, of course.

It seems that Ubisoft just can’t get a break — Back in January we told you that Ubisoft would be trying out a new online-based DRM service that would, theoretically, help the studio combat piracy. Well, not long after the service launched hackers had their way with it cause it to crash altogether. After that, Ubisoft managed to get the service back up but once again they are being attacked.

They comment:

Our servers are under attack again. Some gamers are experiencing trouble singing in. We’re working on it and will keep you posted.”

Luckily, the servers have since gone back online meaning you’ll be able to play your games but the chances of this happening again, unless Ubisoft makes some major changes, remain high.

godofwar3

If you’ll recall, late last month we gave you a look at the top 10 most expensive video game budgets of all time. Well, it seems that God of War 3 would have come in at a close 11th place according ot recent reports.

Director of production development, John Hight has said that God of War III cost the studio $44 million to develop. This may seem like a lot but according to Hight it was “right within budget”. He then went on to tell us that the work was done by 132 staffers, up from about 60 that worked on the previous title.

Since God of War III‘s March 16th release date is just around the corner we’ll have to wait and see if sales will top the budget.

EA has just announced that they will be the exclusive publishers of 38 Studios’ first title. no, this isn’t the previously announced MMO Copernicus but instead a game developed by Big Huge Games. What we know about this title is that it is currently codenamed ‘Project Mercury’ and will be an ‘epic single-player RPG’. It should be epic considered it’s headed by Ken Rolston, the guy behind Oblivion and Morrowind.

That’s about all we have regarding the game but expect more at this year’s GDC.
