While I’ve frequently said I won’t ever be returning to Azeroth, the forthcoming release of Cataclysm has really got me considering a World of Warcraft come back. If, however, I get into the beta my chances of returning will most likely skyrocket.
Beta, you ask? Yes, MMO-Champion has recently gotten word that the Cataclysm beta is set to drop in April. Of course, there’s been absolutely no word from Blizzard regarding the matter and there probably won’t be right until the beta is ready to launch. And now we play the waiting game.
Mass Effect 2 has seen some tremedous reception from pretty much everything. Hopefully, the same can be said about Mass Effect 3 — It was just announced by Epic‘s Vice President Mark Rein that BioWare will be returning to Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 for Mass Effect 3.
Rein comments:
BioWare chose UE3 for the Mass Effect trilogy because they wanted to make an immersive third-person perspective shooter game with sci-fi environments.
Let’s hope this means the game is going to be great.
If you were looking to pick up Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP on May 28th in the UK, you’re going to be disappointed. Konami has recently told CVG that the game is being delayed from May 28th to June 18th.
There’s no telling why the game was delayed or if it North America is looking at the same delay but we’ll let you know.
While I’m a huge fan of the Halo series, I can’t say I’ve ever been too into the Halo action figures. If however, you are, you’ll be happy to hear that McFarlane Toys has recently come forth to show us some new Halo themed action figures.
This line of action figures include some Spartans, some Covenenants, a marine and a few characters from Halo 3: ODST.
There’s no word on when these action figures will be available or at what price point but as always, you’ll know as soon as we do.
Everyone who is anyone (who likes video games) knows that Modern Warfare 2‘s launch was a big one. However, more information has just surfaced that further supports the fact. It seems that Modern Warfare 2 outsold the biggest movie titles of 2009 in the UK including Harry Potter: Half-Blood Prince and James Bond: Quantum of Solace.
Below are the top ten selling entertainment released in the UK of 2009:
1. COD: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision) – 2,926,637 game 2. Harry Potter Half-Blood Prince (Warner) – 2,193,700 video 3. FIFA 10 (EA) – 2,155,697 game 4. Quantum of Solace (Fox) – 2,040,229 video 5. Twilight (E1 Ent) – 1,815,543 video 6. Susan Boyle: I Dreamed A Dream (Sony) – 1,714,369 music 7. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo) – 1,488,797 game 8. Lady GaGa: The Fame (Universal) – 1,458,289 music 9. Slumdog Millionaire (Fox) – 1,383,838 video 10. Transformers Revenge Fallen (Paramount) – 1,362,020 video
Wait, what? Susan Boyle sold almost 2 million records?
In terms of Wii exclusive FPS titles, Red Steel pretty much had the game on lock until The Conduit rolled around. The game was met with generally good reviews which has led the developers to move onto The Conduit 2 which was recently confirmed thanks to Nintendo Power.

If you weren’t aware, today is March 30th, the day that Modern Warfare 2 is set to get 5 brand new maps in the form of the Stimulus Package. Well, earlier in the day there were some hiccups when Infinity Ward attempted to launch the pack but everything has been squared away and works perfectly now.
I’m still against spending $15 for 3 new maps (and 2 old) but I really want to play Crash. Dammit, I guess I’ll do it.
PAX East is currently underway, and we’re finally seeing some upcoming games worth checking out, among those, Breach. The downloadable multiplayer shooter shows some interesting concepts, like physics based destruction — actually, that’s its main selling point. And it’s pretty good, judging by the footage.
iFixit, the guys who get their hands on the newest gadgets and hardware, and completely gut it, detailing in the process all the components the particular gadget is made of. This time, it’s the trusty DSI XL. Check out the full tear down here.
It seems that the notion of locking already available content on game discs and offering is as “DLC”, with an unlock code instead of something new, can be applied to Bad Company 2 as well. I appears that the new “DLC”, which will be released on March 30, is already available and some have found ways of unlocking it. Specifically, some game servers in Russia have been offering the new maps over the past few days.
