The Wii has seen some pretty ridiculous accessories in the past but I think this one takes the cake. What you see above is the CTA Soft-football for Wii, a Wiimote accessory that will obviously be used for football games.

There’s no word on when this will drop or at what price point but honestly, do you even care?

fallout3

Fallout 3 has been on store shelves for some time now and its various DLC packs have followed. However, if you still haven’t had a chance to pick up the DLC packs, now’s the time. It was just announced that all Fallout 3 DLC will be half off on Xbox Live.

This means, “Operation: Anchorage,” “The Pitt,” “Broken Steel,” “Point Lookout,” and “Mothership Zeta” will all be available for 400 Microsoft Points from now until March 29th. Of course, you’re going to have to have an Xbox Live Gold account but you probably already have that.

heavyrain

Heavy Rain was released for the PS3 on February 23rd of this year and was received generally well with most critics praising its unique style of game play. DLC for Heavy Rain is planned but many have been speculating what the studio’s next game will be. Well, despite just releasing Heavy Rain, Proder David Cage has said that he has already” written the next game”.

He doesn’t have the entire thing written but he does know exactly where he wants to go with the game.

Any bets on what the game will be? Heavy Rain 2 perhaps?

If you’ve been following the Command & Conquer series for a while you’re sure to know that the universe it’s set in is pretty extensive. This would lead you to think that the developers have a huge story concocted, but this doesn’t seem to be the case.

In fact, Jon Kucan has recently told CVG that they made the story up as they went:

“We knew we’d created holes that we needed to fill, so we just made it up as we went along. There was really no grand, sweeping plan and I think that’s what made it so much fun.”

I’d be interested to see how many other developers did this as well.

It seems that Nintendo is staying true to their roots with Super Mario Galaxy 2 as it was recently announced that the game will not feature a hub world, like the original Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 64, but instead it will feature a world map. If you’ve been with the Mario franchise for a while (and who hasn’t?) you’ll recognize the world map from classic games like Super Mario Bros. 3 and newer titles like New Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be out for the Wii on May 23rd of this year.

blazblue

If you’re in the UK and was hoping to get your hands on BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger on March 26th, you’re going to be discouraged to hear that the game has been delayed until April 2nd. However, everywhere else in Europe will be able to grab the Xbox 360 version of the game on March 26th while the PS3 is still getting delayed to April 2nd.

Luckily, us here have been enjoying the Japanese craziness of BlazBlue since June 30th of last year.

EA, in its neverending stride to nickle and dime make more money, has revealed a rather unusual new tactic: “premium game demos” which will basically be extended demos that pack more content. Then you’ll have to buy the same content again when you buy the full game, which is, as you can conclude, quite the rip-off.

These new “demos” are expected to be released before the full game hits the stores, just like regular demos. This was attempted, successfully, with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, where EA seems to have found inspiration from.

Square Enix has previously stated that a remake of FF VII would not be possible, but now, CEO Yoichi Wada appears to think otherwise. He said that the company is “going to explore the possibility” of remaking Final Fantasy VII — which is just one step below actually confirming that the remake is in development. We’ll find out soon.

The very well kept secret about Hydrophobia, the new XBLA episodic game from Dark Energy Digital is about to be unwrapped a bit later this week, when the official website for the game will be unveiled. Right now, the official site shows a countdown timer, with some very nice, Bioshock-esque visuals.

masseffect2

It looks like the Alternative Appearance Pack won’t be the only think the Mass Effect franchise is getting as BioWare has just announced that a comic book series based on the franchise will be released. Dark Horse Comics will be in charge of this monthly comic and has said that it will follow the happenings in Mass Effect 2.

There’s no word exactly when this comic will be made available but we’ll let you know.
