Square Enix has come forth today to let us know that the latest Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XIII, has become the fastest telling game in the franchise. They go on to support this notion by saying that the game has sold over 1 million units in North America in just 5 days on the market.

Add this to the sure to be astronomical sales numbers in Japan and Europe and Square Enix may actually be telling the truth.

bioware

Mass Effect 2 will be getting a new DLC pack called the Alternative Appearance Pack thanks to BioWare. The pack, just like the name, will feature some alternative outfits for Garrus, Thane and Jack.

Of course, BioWare is asking you to pay $2 on the Xbox 360 and PC for this Alternative Appearance Pack on March 23rd. 2 dollars for a few costumes? I don’t think so.

littlebigadventure

Have you heard of Little Big Adventure? Not to be confused with Little Big Planet, of course. But anyways, it was a game developed by Frédérick Raynal that went on to become a cult classic. This all matters because Mr. Raynal is making a new gtame that Ubisoft has just secured the rights to publish.

Unfortunately we know nothing about it but E3 is right around the corner so that will probably change soon enough.

It happens with pretty much every game ever and Splinter Cell: Conviction is no different. Luckily, Ubisoft has only delayed the PC version of the game until April 27th while the Xbox 360 version will still be coming out on April 13th.

That’s about it, sorry PC gamers.

While some have complained about EA’s online DRM featured in Command & Conquer 4 but I somewhat see where they are coming from. While it punishes those with poor internet connection it helps curb piracy, which I’m all for. However, one feature that’s recently been discovered I’m not too excited about.

It seems that you need internet connection 100% of the time that you’re playing C&C 4. If you’re playing even singeplayer and lose internet connection, the progress you’ve made during your singleplayer session will not be saved.

Come on EA, really?

samuraishodownsen

If you’re a fan of Japanese fighting games you’ve probably heard of the Samurai Shodown series. Well, the last game to be released in the United States, besides the anthology, was Samurai Shodown VI for the PS2. Now, it’s been announced that SNK is ready to release the latest title, Samurai Shodown Sen in North America on March 30th for the Xbox 360.

SNK sells us that Sen will feature new things like “impressive 3D visuals” and a “huge roster of returning fighters”. I think I’ll rent this game to check it out but I don’t know about buying it. How about you?

starcraft2

Are you currently a StarCraft II beta tester? If so, prepare for an onslaught of requests from your friends — It was just made known that a number of beta testers will be getting emails from Blizzard that includes some extra StarCraft II beta keys.

This expansion, no matter how subtle it is, is surely to help Blizzard put some extra strain on their new Battle.net system for testing purposes.

Anyone want to send one my way?

It was announced not too long ago that Valve would finally be bringing the Steam digital distribution platform to Macs everywhere. If you were a bit doubtful of the transition get this: Valve is actually saying this will be “the biggest event in Steam’s history since the service was first launched”.

I can’t say I disagree with them as Steam’s presence on OS X destroys the notion that Macs are terrible for gaming. Mac users everywhere will soon have the ability to play iconic games such as Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal that PC users have been enjoying for some time. I, for one, know that I’ll be firing up CS: S from time to time on my MacBook when it’s made available.

Just yesterday we showed you what was reportedly a leaked picture of the Xbox 360 Slim’s motherboard. Today, we have a juicy new rumor that is sure to tickle your fancy. That rumor says that Microsoft is gearing up to announce a $149 Xbox 360 Slim at this year’s E3.

Of course, this is anything but confirmed as of now but the fact that Ballmer said that there would be new form factors for the 360, then the picture leaked, and then Microsoft announced they would be adding external HDD support makes it quite believable.

I guess we’ll have to wait until E3 rolls around to know for sure.
