Whether or not you were faced with the infamous DRM issues that plagued Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II for the PC, you will be getting a pleasant surprise. According to That Video Game Blog, Ubisoft is sending out special codes to unlock 3 additional missions for free. It’s just their way of saying sorry.
The missions will apparently include a Lorenzo de Midici resure, a mission in a church and a stealth mission in a shipyard.
Has anyone tried these out yet? Let us know what oyu think.

Do you have your ODST discs? You better, because the Halo: Reach beta’s May 3rd launch date is right around the corner. And, while we saw some of the game types in the trailer released back in March, Bungie hasn’t confirmed what game types will be in the beta.
Luckily, Bungie has just updated their website letting us know that Headhunter, Invsaion, generator defense and Stockpile will all be making the cut.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited.

If you still haven’t said your final goodbyes to Halo 2 you better do it fast because the game is going offline tomorrow. In leui of this, Bungie has stuck a bunch of in-game messages to thank players for their continued patronage, bidding them farewell.
Joystiq has some screen shots similar to the one above which you can check out here. Alternatively, you can just hop on Xbox Live and play the game for one last time and check out the messages. Whatever floats your boat, homie.

Do you have some old video games laying around? If so, you should probably search around a bit and see if any of them are worth money. That’s what Tanner Sandlin from Austin, Texas did and come to find out, he was able to sell Air Raid for the Atari 2600 for an amazing $31,600.
CNN has even said that this is the second-highest priced videogame ever sold second to only Stadium Events which pulled an even more amazing $43,300
So again, go check your closets, your attics, basements, garages whatever you have to do because those old video games could potentially be a gold mine.

Despite the $15 price tag, Modern Warfare 2‘s Stimulus Package managed to sell a riduclous (and we mean very ridiculous) amount of virtual copies. Pretty much everyone agrees that for 5 maps (2 of which are old) $15 is way too high. Well, to one analyst by the name of Jesse Divinch, that price is too low.
Yes, Divinch has actually said that Activision could have charged $20 for the pack and people still would have bought it. He explains below:
“It is evident that 2.5 million Xbox Live players felt that $15 was either just right or a good bargain and given the enormous quantity sold (2.5 million), I’d argue that Activision could have charged more and still obtain the same results.”
I refuse to buy the maps at $15. I can afford them, I just don’t like how Activision priced them (Blizzard, don’t worry, I still love you). But $20? Hellllll no.

While the original Crackdown was a great game, it’s success was overshadowed by the Halo 3 multiplayer beta that was included with it. Well, the developers are looking to remedy that with the second game even recently coming forth to give us a glimpse at its scale.
Ruffian has actually said that the game has the ability to feature “thousands” of enemies at any given time. Thousands of enemies, huh? There better be enough firepower to take down all of those enemies or what’s the point?
Below is the actual quote from Ruffian’s Peter Connelly:
“During the day you’ve got to battle against The Cell, which is the remnants of the gangs and civilians who have joined together against The Agency. So you’ve got quite a formidable set of adversaries with thousands of characters on screen for you to mow over or eradicate which ever way you see fit.

It seems like rumors are flying every which way about an MMO being developed for pretty much every video game franchise out there. But really? Halo? Come on. BioShock, on the other hand, would make a bit more sense as an MMO which is why it’s a relief that rumors have arose stating that a massively multiplayer online game is in the works based on it.
There has been virtually no official word on whether or not these rumors are true so we’ll just have to wait and see.

If you’ve read or seen any type of news as of late you already know that Conan O’Brien is going to be heading to TBS later this year. However, according to rumors, Conan was actually in talks with Microsoft to bring his show to Xbox Live.
These rumors are far from confirmed but it brings about the question of whether or not a show like this would do good on Xbox Live. If Conan had decided to go this route, we would most likely see more and more shows appearing on the platform.
Would you have watched Conan exclusively on the Xbox? Let us know in the comments.

It’s no secret that the PS3 is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to graphical capabilites but up until now, most games that are available on both the 360 and PS3 look and perform about the same. However, Crysis 2, according to Crytek, will be getting a slight performance increase on the PS3.
Fret not Xbox 360 owners as Crytek is still confident that no matter what console you’re on, Crysis 2 will still be the best looking console game to date.
We’ll have to wait until the game is released later this year to see for ourselves.

When you have a great video game franchise, chances are sooner or later someone is going to write a book about it. Dead Space is no different. It was just announced that a book based on the franchise, penned by Brian Evenson, will be released at some point in the near future.
Entitled Dead Space: Martyr, the novel’s plot deals with the following:
“When geophysicist Michael Altman learns of a mysterious signal emitting from deep within the Chicxulub crater, he cannot resist the lure of an undiscovered artefact. He soon learns that being in close proximity to the artefact causes strange occurrences – visions of the dead, vivid dreams, and violent murders. Altman’s experience with the alien artefact leads to this crucial first chapter in the Dead Space saga.”
Anyone going to read this?
