While the current rendition of EA’s NHL, NHL 10, has some Canadian teams, the penetration is none too deep. Well, according to various sources including people who are associated with the Canadian leagues say that teams from the WHL , OHL and QMJHL will be featured in NHL 11.
While this may not make any of you American players excited, it’s great news for Canadian hockey fans looking to play as their favorite team in the game.
Of course, it’s just a rumor at this point so don’t get too excited until an official announcement is made.
Back when the Halo 3 multiplayer beta was bundled with Crackdown, the game saw a massive increase in sales due to the fact. Well, Microsoft thinks tat the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta will be having the safe effect on Halo 3: ODST which is necessary to access the beta.
Microsoft’s Stephen McGill explains it thusly:
“Naturally, the demand for Halo 3: ODST will be reinvigorated as soon as the public Beta kicks off. We know a lot of our Halo community have the game and are eagerly awaiting May 3rd, but there are also a ton of Halo gamers who know and love the Halo universe, yet didn’t try Halo 3: ODST.”
So what about you guys? Do you already have Halo 3: ODST and if not, will you buy it for the Reach beta? Sound off in the comments.
Thanks to the ESRB we now know that a cartoonified version of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger will be hitting the DSiWare service hopefully very soon. According to the ESRB, this game will feature gameplay such as ‘last-man standing, hitting opponents to collect soba noodles, and capture-the-flag.
The best part of all? The game will be called Blayzbloo: Super Melee Brawlers Battle Royale. Why? Who the hell knows.
There may be no future for the live action f or the Halo movie but that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing any live action Halo. Microsoft have just announced that “Birth of a Spartan” will be airing on both US and UK television tomorrow. This 60-second live action short is said to give playes a bit of insight into the world of Halo: Reach and will focus on Carter 259, ‘the future leader of Noble Team’.
Even better, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to get an extended 2.5 minute version of the video this Wednesday.
Halo: Reach‘s multiplayer beta is set to drop on May 3rd.
What was once a beloved game studio is now quickly become a mere shell of what it once was — It was just made known that even more Infinity Ward employees have jumped ship and headed to Respawn Entertainment.
This time, artists Joel Emslie, Ryan Lastimosa and Brad Allen have fled the ailing developer however there’s been no word if they’ve joined Respawn, yet. Additionally, senior software engineer Chris Lambert and designer Brent McLeod have left Infinity Ward and joined Respawn.
With all of this seasoned talent, I can’t wait to see what Respawn Entertainment’s title is to be.
Sony has updated the RSX graphics chip in the PS3 with a new, 40nm manufacturing process, which draws less power and runs cooler. With the new chip, Sony is using a smaller heat sink as well, and a smaller power supply.
Our friends over at GiantBomb have recently gotten the chance to sit down and review the Halo: Reach beta prior to its May 3rd release date. If you’re going to wait the video, make sure you have some free time as it is a full 35 minutes of Halo: Reach goodness.
But anyways, the video takes a loot at the map Overlook and several aspects of Reach‘s gameplay. Something I noticed right of the bat was that Bungie will allo you to pick and choose classes prior to spawning which means there will seemingly be no more rushing to control the power weapons.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Let us know in the comments.
(Seems there was a problem with the embed. If the above video doesn’t work head here to check it out.)
