Red Dead Redemption ships 5 million units

We know that “shipped” us quite different than “sold”, but in the videogame business, the amount of games shipped is usually on par wiht demand and the amount the publisher expects to sell, and in that respect, Red Dead Redemption appears to be selling quite a lot. Enough for publisher Take Two to ship 5 million units to retailers. Take Two has previously said that it will take 4 million units sold to recoup development costs, and it appears that they will.
