Yep, that’s right, Sony has finally given Gran Turismo 5 a firm release date. And they’ve released a new trailer, which you can see above.

Sony has announced that its hit game Heavy Rain will be getting PlayStation Move motion control support later this year with a patch. Apparently, the whole game will be re-worked to support Move all the way, meaning no regular controller will be needed to play Heavy Rain.

Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto demoed the new Zelda game on stage during Nintendo’s E3 press event. The full title of the new Zelda game is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Sony has unveiled a shooting attachment for the PlayStation Move, which , obviously, looks like a gun with a huge ball/sensor at the end, making it look like a ray-gun — and that’s awesome in and of itself. No news on pricing and availability.

Sony has announced their own “Xbox Live” for the PS3, called PlayStation Plus. It will cost $50 a year and will be available from next month. Here’s a sum up of the features you get:

  • Exclusive in-game DLC and other content
  • Free full games, changing each month
  • Early access to demos and betas
  • Auto-patching feature, which will detect, download and install updates

The big feature here of course is the monthly free game, for the first month (July) it’s Wipeout HD. Players without Plus will of course still be able to play online, unlike on the Xbox 360. Check out more on the official PlayStation Plus site.

Portal 2 has been confirmed by Valve, and not only have the released a trailer, they did it during Sony’s E3 press conference — and Valve has stated that not only is Portal 2 coming to the PS3, with Steam Cloud and automatic updates. Watch Gabe Newell himself say that the PS3 version fo Portal 2 will be the best one.

One of the big news at Nintendo’s E3 conference was the unveiling, or rather, the confirmation of the Nintendo 3DS, a handheld DS with a 3D feature. The console supports 3D without the use of glasses, and has a large top screen to show off the 3D effect. It’s bigger than the standard DS, and far more powerful. We haven’t had any hands-on time with the new handheld, but we’ll let you know as soon as we have.

One of the biggest reveals Nintendo made at E3 just hours ago, was a remake of the N64 classic GoldenEye. Developed by Activision, and starring Daniel Craig as 007, the new GoldenEye looked a lot like the old one, except better graphics and effects. Split screen multiplayer was also showcased, but the game will also feature online multiplayer as well.

One of the big reveals at Nintendo’s E3 press event was the new Zelda game. Called The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, it will sport some new controls, whereby utilizing the Motion Plus sensor, players can swing the sword in any direction they want, slice and hack, etc. New weapons were also revealed, including a whip. Finally, Nintendo has confirmed that the game will not be out this year, but next year instead.

Nintendo’s E3 press event just concluded, and one of the games unveiled was Kirby’s Epic Yarn, the first Kirby game on a home Nintendo console in 7 years. It’s a 2.5D side-scrolling adventure, much like New Super Mario Bros. Nintendo showed some interesting gameplay from it, where Kirby can take shape of a wide variety of things. The game will be out this Fall on the Wii.
