The Comic Con 2010 trailer of the upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon. The game will be released early next year.
Once every few years, a new and innovative game finds its way to gamers, and we can safely say, Limbo is one of those games.
The game takes place in a dream world between life and death — or at least, we think, as it’s never explained — a dreamworld where everything is silhouetted and in black, white and shades of grey. It’s an interesting visual style which adds tremendously to the game’s atmosphere, alongside the wonderful soundtrack.

You play as a small boy stuck in this world, who has to go through it, solve puzzles, and figure out just what the hell is going on and where he is. In Limbo, survival is the main quest, as you’ll move from level to level, puzzle to puzzle. It looks and feels like an art house film, like something David Lynch might make. In fact, that’s exactly how one might view Limbo: as an art house video game.
The puzzles in the game are quite interesting and something you wouldn’t see elsewhere. And since your main character doesn’t have any special moves or powers, you walk, jump and climb certain elements, the puzzles are even more impressive given that they’re all built around simple moves. However, that doesn’t mean your journey will be a cake-walk — by no means. It’s quite a challenging game, and you’ll be dying a lot before you figure out how to attack the puzzle.

Overall, Limbo is a wonderful and thought provoking game, especially considering that the young boy hero will be dying a lot of graphic deaths, and the mood and atmopshere which is unlike any other platformer we’ve experienced. While it’s a short games, and doesn’t offer any conclusion to the story (like, who is the boy and why is he there?), it’s a satisfying break from the usual run and gun platformers that you see.
The Good:
Stunning atmosphere
Great gameplay
Original
The Bad:
A bit short
Doesn’t conclude the story, but perhaps it’s not meant to.
Overall score: 9/10

Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox 360 “slim” arcade will be priced at $200 and will be shipping with 4 GB internal memory. However, the Arcade version will have a “matte” finish instead of the glossy one found on the regular Xbox 360.
On top of that, a new bundle was revealed as well, which will ship with an Arcade console and Kinect for $300, $50 off if you’d buy it separately.

We’ve known that Kinect would priced at $150 for a while, however, Microsoft never officially confirmed the price. Until now: Microsoft finally confirmed that it’ll cost $150. And it’ll go on sale this Fall. Furthermore, you can enjoy the nice box art above.

Artbooks are usually small books, or even pamphlets which are packaged with Limited Edition version of games. However, not this time. Rockstar has released three artbooks, which will include concept art, 3D models and wireframes to advertisements and box art from lots of Rockstar’s recent games. It will go on sale next month for a whopping $450.

Finally, the “Spore-based” RPG from Maxis has been revealed, and it looks quite interesting, blending Spore with a hack-n-slash RPG like Diablo, and will, as you might have guessed, focus a lot more on action than the regular Spore. It’s set for release in February 2011.

Looking to get a new Xbox 360? Look no further than this deal on Amazon, which gets you an Xbox 360 plus a copy of Final Fantasy XIII. Usually it retails for $350, so you’re saving a cool 50 bucks. However, keep in minds that it’s not the new, “slim” Xbox 360, but the old, white, brick.

Netflix has announced that their streaming service is coming to Canada this fall. Which means all those Canadian’s with their Netflix-ready Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3s have something to look forward to. Watching lots of movies.

PopCap has announced that Plants Vs. Zombies will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade in September, and will have a new online feature, which they describe as “a goofy new way to track and share progress online, where players create their own custom house and cruise down the street to see their friends’ cribs!”. Also, the game will have the highest resolution of any Plants vs Zombie game, as it will run at full 1080p.
