According to The Wall Street Journal, Blizzard’s StarCraft 2 comes with a price-tag of a whopping $100 million, costing just as much as Grand Theft Auto 4, the most expensive game ever made (at $100 million as well). But fear not, Activision-Blizzard expect the game to generate half a billion in profit — profit, not revenue. And that’s according to Activions CEO Bobby Kotick.

Activision brings the second Modern Warfare 2 map pack, called Resurgence. Just like the last one, it’s priced at a high $15, and includes 5 maps. And just like last time, two of those maps are remakes.

The two remakes are Vacant, a tight map with lots of close quarter combat, while the second remade map, Strike, is based on urban combat and offers a bit more wiggle room than Vacant. The two maps carry the feel and play style from MW1, and on a whole, they’re pretty much the same.

The new maps, are Fuel, Trailer Park and Carnival. Fuel seems to be the most balanced and fair one, as it’s basically split in two, one end for those seeking regular, tense combat, and the other for snipers to camp. Trailer Park, as its name suggests, is set in a trailer park of old, vacant homes, with lots of close quarter combat where your shotgun will be the most useful weapon. The lat map, Carnival, is set in Brazil and takes place at a carnival, and given the nature of the map, its a lot more colorful and interesting, and is especially more open than the other maps.

Overall, the Resurgence map pack is just like the other one: okay for MW2 junkies — the three new maps offer some variety and Carnival especially is a great addition. Bur for the average gamer, the Resurgence map pack is just overpriced for what it delivers.

We previously reported that most 3D games on the PS3 will be in 720p, and not it turns out that all games on the PS3 which feature 3D tech will be limited to 720p. It’s understandable, as on a technical level, 3D requires twice the amount of frames, so you end up with two 720p images, one for each eye. However, it seems silly to limit 3D games to 720p, as we’re sure some developers out there would be able to squeeze two, 1080p images out of the PS3. The PS3 is already capable of displaying 1080p 3D images, as 3D Blu-ray films will be watchable on the console later this year.
