Valve has given Portal 2 an official release date: February 9, 2011. Of course, in “Valve time”, that may very well be Late 2011. Or sometimes in 2012. As Valve is know for delaying pretty much all of their games.

Capcom has announced that zombie slasher Resident Evil 5 will be getting a PlayStation Move patch on September 19, so you can hack, slash and realistically kill zombies with your new Move controller. Also, if you play co-op, you’ll be able to do that with Move as well, and if you only have one Move controller, the other person can use a regular controller.

Japan always gets something interesting that the rest of the world doesn’t. Like this blue PlayStation 3 bundled with a copy of Gran Turismo 5. To be honest, blue doesn’t really fit the PS3 — we’d rather take a ceramic white.
There’s another comic book based movie out these days, called “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World”, which happens to be one of the better comic book films out there. And as usual, it’s got a video game accompanying it. And like the film, it’s actually one of the better game adaptations.
In Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, you play as Scott Pilgrim, who wishes to be with his new girlfriend. However, in order to do so, you have to beat her evil 7 ex-boyfriends — pretty much the same storyline as in the film, as one might expect.
However, don’t expect a fully fledged 3D action adventure here — oh no, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is a throwback to old school, 8-bit sidescrollers, and it manages to perfectly replicate that style, without feeling like a rip off. As you can see on the screenshot below, it’s pretty much 1988. Even the soundtrack is a great throwback to that time in gaming.

The gameplay on the other hand, is quite straightforward as one might expect, and the game is sufficiently long enough and polished enough for a downloadable title. On top of your usual actions for beating your opponent, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World has an added, light RPG element where you can upgrade and learn new tricks and moves, which adds some depth to the game. But the best part is playing it in co-op with a a friend — sadly however, your friend can’t jump in an out of co-op and there’s no online multiplayer either.
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is a great arcade game and downloadable title, especially if you got a friend to play with. However, co-op is limited and offline only, and the game can get frustrated at times, with too much going on on the screen.
The Good:
Nice retro visuals
Great soundtrack
The Bad:
Limited multiplayer
Frustrating gameplay at times
Overall score: 8/10
