After 3D Realms was shut down, Gearbox head Randy Pitchford started talking to the guys, and Gearbox’ good relationship with Take Two, they ended up acquiring the Duke IP. They took over the development of Duke Nukem Forever, which was showcased as a playable demo at PAX last weekend. The game is scheduled for release next year, at which point it will have been in development some 14 years.

According to a report, an unannounced developer has acquired Realtime World’s “mmo” MyWorld, which the bankrupt developer worked on alongside APB, until it shut down. Realtime World’s is still trying to sell APB and the rest of its assets.

Gearbox has announced that Borderlands will be getting a new update for the shooter which will raise the level cap from 61 to 69. The update will be released for free on October 12, the same day the Game Of The Year edition will be released. The level cap update will be for both the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.

AMD is set to reveal its new graphics card line up, the Radeon 6000 series very soon, and recent performance previews suggest it’s set to take the lead as the most powerful GPUs on the market. Now the tech guys from Chiphell.com managed to get a pic of the new cards, a first. AMD is expected to make an announcement in the upcoming weeks.

Dungeon Siege 3 is shaping up to be quite the threequel, with a new trailer that finally showcases some gameplay. The game is expected to be released early next year.

Wave Race was one of the most awesome N64 games, and the sequel, Wave Race Blue Storm was just as good on the GameCube. Someone discovered a nice Easter egg in the audio settings, where a code makes the announcer give you funny and sarcastic lines throughout the race. If you still got Wave Race on your old GameCube, you can find the code on NEOGaf here.

Conduit was one of the first real third person FPS shooters to hit the Wii, but while it didn’t deliver much, it did establish somewhat of a name — and a sequel was quickly announced. However, it’s been delayed from this Fall to early next year, most like due to heavy competition from the upcoming and anticipated Goldeneye 007.

Yep, the rumors are true Take-Two took over development of Duke Nukem Forever, gave it to Gearbox to finish, and they’ll already have something to show for at this year’s PAX, which is only days away. If you ever wanted futuristic racing, your safe bet was Wipeout on the PS3. Now it seems that Nintendo is getting something similar on the Wii, since F-Zero has been MIA for years. Called “FAST Racing League”, developed by Shin’en, who previously worked on Jett Rocket, the game will apparently resemble Wipeout quite a lot. But the developer hasn’t released much information — more is expected later this year.

Oddworld hasn’t been around for a while — last time we saw anything original in that manner was almost five years ago on the original Xbox, a game called Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath — an FPS of all things. Now developer Oddworld Inhabitants is remaking said title for the PS3, with new visuals and 720p support. The game will also include additional content, and hopefully, they’ve fixed some of the issues from the previous game.
