Sony has blocked fake PS3 controllers from being used on the PS3, and says that they’re prone to explosion. Which is an overstatement of course, as they certainly don’t want anyone to buy non-original controllers. Which are inferior to Sony’s, anyway.
EA has announced that the Medal of Honor multiplayer PC beta will start on October 4, and will bring two modes: Sector Control, a territory-control type, and Combat Mission, a “rush”-like mode. The beta will only run for 3 days, until October 7. However, luckily, it’s an open beta which will be available for all to play.

Gameloft, the french mobile game developer has announced that they’ve sold an impressive 20 million games on the iPhone, iPod and iPad platform. They’ve released over 100 games on the platform, and 25 of those hit the top 1 selling spot, which is quite an accomplishment.
According to a new rumor, Lionhead’s impressive Kinect tech demo Project Milo, where users could interact with a boy named Milo, has been canceled and the technology has been moved to other Lionhead projects, like a Kinect update of Fable 3. Furthermore, the 19 people that worked on the projects have been fired from Lionhead, which is never a good sign.
iPhone game developer Halfbrick has announced that its popular Fruit Ninja iPhone/iPod game has sold an impressive 2 million copies. The game took 74 days to sell 1 million copies, and another 78 days to reach 2 million. The game retails for $1, which means Halfbrick has made a cool $1.4 million, after Apple’s 30% cut.
According to a new rumor — and we stress, rumor — Nintendo’s 3DS will sport dual ARM11 CPUs running at 266 MHz, and a DMP PICA200 GPU, at 166MHz. On top of that, it will sport 64MB of RAM. Now when you compare these specs to, say, the iPhone, they don’t seem to impress, after all, the iPhone has a 1GHz CPU and 512 MB of RAM. But the price of the 3DS will also be quite lower.
CroTeam, the Croatian developers of Serious Sam HD, have announced that they’ll be releasing a “Gold Edition” of the game on Steam on Thursday. The Gold Edition includes Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter and Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, and both original editions of both games. Price: $40.
Netflix has launched in Canada, albeit only in streaming form. For $8 a month, Canadian film fans can stream movies to their TVs and computers, and, their consoles as well, as both the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii support Netflix streaming. However, while streaming is available on the Wii and PS3 right now, it appears that Xbox 360 users will have to wait for a few weeks.
