Nintendo’s big cash cow just proved itself once again: Pokemon Black and White for the DS managed to sell 2.6 million copies on launch day, making Halo Reach look like an indie title in comparison. The previous Pokemon title, Gold and Silver, sold 1.4 million copies, and we can’t wait to see what the next one sells. 3.6, anyone?

Usually fan trailers are crudely animated clips, but this one is made by none other than an employee at Weta Digital, Marco Spitoni. If you remember correctly, Weta did the CG work on Lord of The Rings, King Kong and District 9.

According to NPD, which tracks game sales in North America, PC downloads have surpassed retail sales in the first 6 months of 2010. Over 11.2 million PC games were sold as downloads, while only 8.2 million at retail. Despite the rise in downloadable games, NPD says that PC revenues have dropped 21% this year, and might drop to 25% for the whole 2010.

Limbo one of the most original games we played all summer (read our Limbo review), and we’re not surprised that Microsoft has revealed that Limbo is the best selling XBLA games this summer “by far”, as Microsoft’s Phil Spencer put it. Congrats to Limbo and developer Playdead.

Tokyo Game Show has just wrapped up in Japan, and for the first time, it saw an attendance of over 200,000, specifically, 207,647 people attended which has now become the largest games show in the world. At the same occasion, it was announced that the 2011 TGS will be held on September 16 through 18, 2011. See you then!

On Tuesday, September 21, StarCraft 2 is getting the 1.1 patch, which has been in testing for the past few weeks at Blizzard. The new patch will bring Nvidia 3D support, left handed hot-key options, and a slew of gameplay refinements. The patch was originally announced last month, but Blizzard finally gave us a release date today.
