MineCraft Goes Beta on December 20th Complete With Storyline, Hiked Price

If you have a PC (or Java-capable computer in general) and haven’t played MineCraft yet you are seriously missing out. The game has been out for quite some time and has posted amazing results with fairy tale-esque story’s of it’s 1 man development team making millions. However, while MineCraft has also sold like hot cakes, it is currently only in its alpha phase meaning there is quite a bit of room to grow. Luckily, the game’s developers have just announced that MineCraft will be entering its beta phase starting on December 20th.
What exactly will the beta include? Well, the game’s developer Notch had this to say:
With Beta comes a larger focus on polish and content, and we’ll start early on with adding proper modding support with a stable API. We’ll also add some kind of non-intrusive narrative to the game to help drive the game experience early on, and to provide some kind of late game goal.
Not only that but Notch also lets us know that all users those who purchase the game after December 20th will be forced to pay again once the final game is released. Howeve,r those who purchase before then (at the lowered price of €9.95) will get all future updates for free. Good thing I already snagged my copy!
