GameStop reports holiday 2010 sales of $3.02 billion

World’s largest game retailer, GameStop, has announced Holiday 2010 sales of $3.02 billion — a new record for the company. The sales are counted from November to January 1st. During the same time last year, GameStop sold $2.8 billion worth of videogames, consoles and peripherals, among other things.

Despite the recovering economy, the videogame industry has been doing well, with most retailers, online and offline, reporting an increase in sales.
