PS3 Shipments Get Halted in UK Due to LG Lawsuit

Now that electronics are getting more affordable than ever before it’s finding its way into the homes of an unheard of amount of consumers. However, seeing how there are so many customers ripe for the picking there is sure to be quite a bit of competition between the electronics manufacturers. Quite obviously, a great example here would be between Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft who are all competing for home video game console market share.
However, it seems that there is some competition between LG and Sony going down over the UK in the form of a law suit. According to recent reports, LG had taken Sony to court over some patent disputes regarding the console’s Blu-ray technology. While the suit is still in court, it seems that LG has just won a preliminary injunction against Sony effectively halting all of their PS3 shipments in the UK.
Seeing how we certainly aren’t lawyers we can’t tell you how this will turn out in the end but in the time being Sony may have a hard time keeping PS3s on the shelves in the UK with a reported 100,000 units being shipped a week.
We’ll definitely keep you posted with how this one turns out.
