DICE and EA have finally teased, or rather, shown some video of Battlefield 3 — they’ve been teasing us for years. The video shows a bit of BF3 action, and most importantly, it looks like jets are back.
BF3 Blog reports that BF3 has been confirmed to support 64 players on PC, and that it’ll have a single-player campaign. We dunno about the latter.
The third installment in Codemasters’ excellent rally series, Dirt, has been pinned to a May 24 released date, where it’ll find its way to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
To mark the occasion, they’ve released a new screenshot, which you can see above. That’s it, Codemaster? All we get is a screenshot? No trailer? No teasers? Hmm. I guess it’ll have to do for now.
Fallout New Vegas’ first DLC, Dead Money, was originally released on the Xbox 360 as an exclusive for a few months, but now that exclusivity is coming to an end, as PC and PS3 owners will get a chance at the new gameplay. The new DLC is expected to be released next moth, and is expected to retail at the same $10 price point as the Xbox 360 copy.
Dead Money takes place in the Sierra Madre, where you’re pretty much in shoes of Humphrey Bogart when he was looking for the Treasure of Sierra Madre.
Pokemon is one of the most recognized brands in the gaming world spawning a massive line up of products ranging from trading cards to movies. The next additions to the Pokemon video game series set to drop for the Nintendo DS are Pokemon Black and White. Well, seeing how the titles are set to drop on March 6th you’re probably starting to wonder what kind of bonuses early adopters will be able to snag.
According to recent reports if you grab one of the titles before April 10th you will be able to snag a “Liberty Pass” which will allow gamers to catch a brand new Pokemon named Victini, pictured above. Not much else was made known at this time but when the release dates for Black and White near we’ll throw some more information your way.
Just a few years ago rhythm based games were all the rage with titles like Guitar Hero and Rock Band ruling the airwaves. However after countless renditions of the former, the hype surrounding these two franchises have died off. In fact, they’ve died down so much that Viacom has actually sold off Harmonix along with the Rock Band franchise. Well, now that Harmonix is sold off, what is to come of MTV Games, one of the publishers behind Rock Band?
Well, according to recent reports, MTV Games has all but shut down. According to MCV, MTV Games has already closed its international office with only a few financial staff members remaining at the New York City office.
Is this to be believed? We aren’t sure quite yet but if it’s true expect an announcement quite soon.
It’s been almost 2 years since the release of Battlefield 1943 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and a PC version has been delayed over and over again, finally, DICE has canceled the damn thing outright.
Instead, BF3Blog reports that DICE will be spending the resources on Battlefield 3, which it intends to make the biggest Battlefield game ever. In addition to canceling BF1943, the “Onslaught” Bad Company 2 DLC for PC has been canned as well.
Sony’s PlayStation division, which includes the PS3, PSP, and software groups, has been bleeding money for the last five years, but for the third quarter, the group finally turned a decent profit: $564 million for its “Networked Products & Services”, which include the PlayStation division, among others.
While the report doesn’t say exactly how much the PS3 made, it’s clear that it’s now turning a profit. Sony is expecting to sell 15 million PlayStation 3 consoles next fiscal year, compared to 13 million this year. In addition, Sony plans to sell 8 million PSP units, which is a drop compared to the 10m million it sold this year.
While console gamers can more than happily enjoy their favorite titles with not much more than a standard television and their console of choice, there are many different ways to dive deeper into enjoying your games. Upgrading your television, sound system and getting a big comfy chair may be such things that come to mind. However, some gamers may overlook the importance and practicality of headphones designed for console gaming. I don’t know about you, but I’ve caused more than enough racket in the wee hours of the morning thanks to my all night gaming sessions and I’ve definitely pissed off more people than I’m proud to admit. However, had I gotten a pair of headphones perhaps that all would have been avoided.
But what headphones am I supposed to get? you may be asking yourself. That’s a good question, but one that may be made easier in the near future thanks to a partnership between MadCatz and Microsoft. That’s right, love them or hate them MadCatz is teaming up with Microsoft to push out Xbox 360 branded headphones. MadCatz, of course, is no stranger to headphones as their have had their positively received Tritton line up of headphones on the market for some time.
When these headphones will be out is anyone’s guess but we’ll keep you posted.

THQ and Kaos Studios are set to debut the highly anticipated Homefront. This first person shooter gives gamers thea bility to defend North America as it sustains an attack from the none-too-happy North Korea. Originally, the game had been set for a release on March 8th in North America where it would be available for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and the OnLive streaming game service.
However, it was made known today that THQ and Kaos will be pushing the release date from the 8th to the 15th. No reason was stated for the delay so we’re just going to assume it was a minor problem and nothing to get worked up about.
Hopefully this is the last delay the game will see on its way to market. We’ll leep you posted if anything else comes up.
