Each respective console has their fair share of exclusives that help push hardware. On the Xbox 360 we have Halo and Gears of War and on the Wii we have Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong and so on. On the PS3 side of things there are several different exclusives with Killlzone being one of the biggest. With Killzone 3‘s February 23rd release date right around the corner what is Sony to do? Release a bundle, of course.
That’s right, it was just made known that Sony will be releasing a 160GB PS3 bundle with Killzone 3 packed in for just $299. Seeing how the normal 160GB PS3 goes for $299 you’re essentially getting the game for free which is welcome news to me.

When I first laid eyes on All Points Bulletin (APB) I thought it was the MMO of my dreams. “Grand Theft Auto Online?” I thought to myself, “you can’t get much better than that”. Unfortunately when the game actually did hit the streets it was met with less that positive reception across the board and eventually shut its doors for good.
Luckily, the game is getting a reboot from its new developers GamersFirst who will be releasing it as a free-to-play title. If you’ve been following the game you may know that a closed beta has been put out with registrations open for all. Things seem to be going quite nicely as GamersFirst has just come forth to say that there have been over 100,000 registrations for the game. Below is a quote from the studio:
“[The beta registrations] far exceed the number of people [we] actually expected or even needed for the first Closed Beta”
Of course, seeing how APB Reloaded will be a free-to-play game it’s almost a given that it will garner some public interest.

According to BF3Blog, the recent developer interview in GameInformer mentions the Commander feature that was present in Battlefield 2 and 2142, and according to DICE, that feature won’t be returning to BF3.
DICE reasons this with it being too complicated to use, and they talk about “lowering the threshold” for players. Which for us, sounds like dumbing things down, especially since a Commander feature would be difficult to do on consoles. DICE says the PC platform is the lead platform for BF3, but news like this make us believe otherwise.

We’ve known for a while that Bizarre Creations was going to shut its doors after Activision announced that it’ll be shutting down a number of studios. We’ve now been told that Bizarre will be closing its office doors for the last time this Friday.
Bizarre is known for creating the Project Gotham Racing series on the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. Last year they released Blur and James Bond 007: Blood Stone, neither of which sold well.

According to a new Forbes article which interviewed Valve founder Gabe Newell, Valve is worth billions. While Newell didn’t give precise numbers, he did say that “per employee, Valve is more profitable than Google and Apple.”. Per employee, Apple makes around $6 million, while Google makes around $8 million. Meaning that if Valve’s 250 employees made $8 million a pop, Valve is worth just over $2 billion. We knew Steam was popular, but we had no idea it was that popular.

Assassin’s Creed is one of Ubisoft’s most valuable properties with three different tiles currently on the market. However, now that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has been on the market for a bit it’s time to start thinking towards the future. While nothing has been said thus far, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has come forth to say the following:
“We will have an Assassin’s Creed this year. We are going to give you more details in May.”
I suppose this is as good of opportunity as any for you lot to voice your suggestions, concerns, and everything in between. Where do you want this next AC installment to go?

There are several different big name publishers in the video game industry with players like EA and Activision coming to mind. However, Take-Two has been moving along quite nicely with their share of games including the behemoth Grand Theft Auto.
Recent reports suggest that Take-Two’s success has caught the eye of Activision. In fact, these reports suggest that Activision is actually going to make a push to fully acquire Take-Two. If this were the case, Activision would be looking to get their hands on highly valuable titles like Red Dead Redemption and the above mentioned Grand Theft Auto.
Of course, this has far from been confirmed so we’ll have to keep you posted with further developments.

Despite being in development for over a decade Duke Nukem Forever‘s May 3rd, 2011 release date is finally approaching. While we’ve seen everything from gameplay to the collector’s edition there is still much to be known about the game. While it would be ridiculous to think that the developers will tell us everything prior to the game’s launch, some information has been trickling out here and there.
The latest of such information focuses on the game’s campaign, more specifically how long it will be. Gearbox‘s own Randy Pitchford came forth during an interview with GTTV to let us know that it will be between 16 and 18 hours.
This is a decent amount of play time and will surely give Duke Nukem fans hours of fun. Now we just need some information on the multiplayer and we’ll be all set and, you know, a demo wouldn’t hurt.

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series has been one of the most popular to ever hit the market. Of course, with such popularity comes various copycats with some being better than others. Saints Row, in particular, was a game modeled after Grand Theft Auto but gave gamers a whole slew of new functionality. Currently, Saints Row 2 is the most recent title in the series to hit the market but there have been talks of a Saints Row 3 release for some time.
In fact, rumor has it, THQ will be coming forward next month to reveal the game. These rumors spawn from Twitter where THQ’s Core Games Executive Vice President Danny Bilson come forth to say the following:
Look for a HUGE announcement from us the second week in March! Will come with lots of content.
So, while it’s not actually confirmed that Saints Row 3 will be the big reveal, the company has been talking about the game quite a bit lately so it would certainly line up. Be sure to check back for more information.

Valve has a pretty good track record when it comes to releasing hard hitting titles. Not only is their Half-Life franchise regarded as one of the greatest FPS franchises of all time but it has spanned countless other titles powered by the Source engine such as Counter-Strike and later, Portal.
First released back in 2007 Portal tasks players with finding their way through various puzzles using nothing more than a portal gun. If you’re not familiar with this device you can shoot one portal, which serves as an entry way, and then another which serves as the exit. Quite obviously, you can then walk through the entrance and appear at the exit wherever you may have placed it. If you haven’t check the game out you should definitely do so.
Alternatively, you can skip over the first title entirely and just pick up Portal 2 which is expected to hit store shelves on April 18th. In fact, Valve has just announced today that the game is available for pre-order from various retailers including their Steam digital distribution outlet. As a little freebie, if you pre-order the game through Steam you will be given a $5 discount dropping the game to $45. Not bad..
