CryEngine 3 GDC showcase

CryTek showcased its brand new CryEngine 3 at GDC 2011, and the engine certainly looks pretty sleek, and seemingly does in real time — what takes animators months to do on animated films. However, seeing how Crysis 2 doesn’t manage to look any better that Crysis 1, judging by the demo, we really dunno how to judge the CryEngine 3 demo, apparently what you see isn’t what you get. If Crytek can’t make Crysis 2 look any better than Crysis 1, at least for now, then how can other developer spending $2 million on a CryEngien 3 license do so? The engine is a multiplatform engine, but it has since been revealed that the PS3 version of Crysis 2 runs a resolution lower than 720p.
