Of all the different video game companies currently on the market Nintendo arguably has the most timeless classics. In fact, it seems like just about anybody who’s anybody has played their exclusives such as Mario Bros., Zelda and Donkey Kong (among others). Over the years these platforms have changed and evolved alongside the release of new hardware while maintaining the gameplay we’ve all come to know and love.

If you’re a Wii game who sticks by Nintendo exclusive you’ll know that the company recently released Donkey Kong Country Returns – a follow up and reboot of the popular Donkey Kong country series left behind on the Super Nintendo. The game did quite well with millions of copies sold worldwide since its release back in November of last year – but, of course, this is no surprise since it is a Nintendo game.

Due to this success, many gamers are sure to be wondering when, if ever, we’ll see a sequel. Unfortunately, it seems that, at this time, there is no such thing planned. Producer Kensuke Tanaber recently sat down with Game Informer to talk the sequel. When asked about said sequel he responded:

“I wasn’t even thinking about doing a sequel for Metroid Prime until Retro showed me the last scene in the game, which was near the end of development. I wouldn’t say we won’t do a sequel, but we don’t have anything planned at this time.”

Before you get too upset, make note that just because they don’t have anything currently planned does not mean we won’t be seeing a Donkey Kong Country Returns sequel. Seeing how the Nintendo 3DS is just around the corner, I’d say chances are pretty good that we’ll see every one’s favorite ape make the jump to the eye popping handheld.

If you’re not familiar with it, OnLive is a quite innovative service. Instead of forcing you to download games you want to play all you need to do is download their game client and you’re ready to stream games from their servers to your computer. While their game library isn’t too massive just yet, it does include hot titles such as NBA 2K11.

Seeing how the service is quite new, there are still some features that have yet to be added. Luckily, OnLive’s VP of Engineering, Joe Bentley, recently spoke during GDC to give us a bit of insight into the future of the service. First of all, OnLive plans to add achievements to their service which consoles gamers will be quite familiar with as it gives players incentives to continue playing, many times even after a game’s main mode is beaten. Additionally, the company also hopes to bring integrated voice chat, game invites and the ability to upload clips from the service straight to OnLive.

These is quite a hefty order but once they are implemented, OnLive will be much more up to par with traditional consoles like the Xbox 360 OR PS3.

Angry Birds is without a doubt the most talked about game made primarily for mobile phones on the market. Starting out on iOS for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Angry Birds has made its way to other platforms like Android and even onto desktop platforms including Windows and Mac OS X. While we’ve known for quite some time that the iOS version is quite popular, Rovio has just went on record during GDC ’11 by saying that the Android version of Angry Birds has passed the 30 million downloads mark.

Of course, that’s not the only thing they have told us as they then went on to say that 80% of Angry Birds owners on Android download future updates of the game meaning that interest is still high even after the game is released. This goes against some words circulating in the online community that folks are growing tired of the Angry Birds franchise.

What do you think of Angry Birds? Is it still something you enjoy playing or have you grown bored of it? Let us know!

There are many different video game franchise on the market but some stand out high above the rest. One such franchise is Call of Duty which has made its way onto several different platforms and continues to sell massive amounts every time a new game released. However, with hard hitting titles on the PS3 like Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted and Killzone we would expect an exclusive to be the highest selling game of all time, right? Nope, Activision has just come forth to let us know that the latest Call of Duty title, Black Ops, has now become the best selling PS3 game of all time.

Of course they didn’t actually release any hard sales numbers to back this claim up so we’ll have to wait until analysts come forth to give you that tid bit but, if true, it’s quite the amazing feat on Activison’s part.
