Batman has been one of the most iconic super heroes of all time and has spawned a massive amount of products. Video games are no different as there are countless Batman video games on the market. More recently we were able to get our Batman fill from Warner Bros. Batman: Arkham Asylum which gave us a kind of 3D stealth beat em’ up game.

Well, building on the success of Arkham Asylum, Warner Bros. will be going on to release Batman: Arkham City for just about every major console including the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and even the Wii U. While we haven’t heard of much in terms of official gameplay for the game Warner Bros. has come forth today to show us the game’s official box art which we’ve included for your viewing pleasure above.

Be sure to let us know what you think of the box art and prepare yourself for the game’s release on the above mentioned consoles come this October.

We’ve been giving Minecraft a lot of attention recently and with good reason – the game is a phenomenon. Starting off being developed by a single person the game has effectively spawned an entire game development studio dubbed Mojang Specifications along with an international following. But, that’s not the most amazing part – the most amazing part is the fact that the game is still in beta meaning it has a lot of room to grow.

While we told you about the Minecraft 1.7 update just yesterday, the real update gamers are looking forward to is Minecraft 1.8. This is the update that Notch is calling the Adventure update which will add a ton of new content that’s yet to be announced. Luckily, Notch has finally spoken of the 1.8 update giving us a bit of inside into what to expect.

According to notch the update will include more interesting farming, NPC filled villages, more incentives to explore, new combat mechanics, at least one new mob and “complex terrain features”. Unfortunately some of these things are quite vague but they will definitely be giving Minecraft a ton of depth – even more so than it already has.

Minecraft has been getting a steady stream of updates from its developer, Mojang Specifications, ever since it secured its place as one of the most popular indie titles of all time. If you’ve played the game you’ll know that despite being full of features there is still quite a ways to go. For example, the game doesn’t really have a beginning or an end right now instead it’s very open ended tasking players with mining materials and building whatever they want. Luckily, the game’s original developer Notch has told us that the game will be getting a lot more depth in the near future with a series of updates – one being Adventures.

Not much is known exactly what Notch means about ‘Adventures’ but it is assumed that a sort of questing system complete with non playable characters will be added. Unfortunately, Notch has taken to his blog today to let us know that the version 1.8 update, which includes Adventures, will not be out for quite some time. On a more positive note, he did let us know that he is planning to release Minecraft version 1.7 this Thursday.

What’s to be included in this update, you ask? Well according to Notch the update will contain nothing more than pistons and some bug fixes but something is better than nothing, right?

Valve is one of the most influential game companies on the market today. Much of this success can be attributed to the highly popular Half-Life series which they created. However, Half-Life isn’t the only game franchise they’ve created as they are also responsible for other hard hitters including Counter-Strike, Left 4 Dead, Portal and Team Fortress.

Team Fortress in particular is currently on its second iterations appropriately dubbed Team Fortress 2. Powered by the source engine Team Fortress 2 has been giving gamers a unique experience since 2007. However, perhaps you’ve been straying awawy from Team Fortress 2 due to the fact that you have to, well, pay for it.

Well then it seems that today is your lucky day as Valve has completely abolished the price tag associated with Team Fortress 2 and made it free to play. But, those who already purchased the game aren’t completely out of luck as they now have  Premium Account. These accounts allow you to do things like accure more items, mechanic blueprints and much more.

Now, stop reading this and go get playing.

German developer Crytek, known for Far Cry, Crysis 1 and 2, and one of the prettiest engines, CryEngine, has confirmed that it’s working on a Wii U version of its latest engine, CryEngine 3. CryEngine 3 was properly showcased earlier this year with the release of Crysis 2, although some have argued that it wasn’t as good as the previous version, since it was optimized to run on consoles, in addition to the PC.

Crytek is expected to deliver a DirectX 11 patch for Crysis 2 on PC next month, which will greatly improve the looks of the game. The engine is available for licensing to third party developers at a price of $1.8 million per project.

Zombies, despite being grotesque and not very nice to be around have essentially spawned an international phenomenon. For years now movie makers have been pushing out big budget titles focusing on the living dead with movie goers everywhere clamoring over the latest releases. Well, us gamers aren’t much different as there are many different zombie focused video games on the market and even more come to market soon. One such title coming to market soon that has been generating a ridiculous amount of buzz is none other than Zombie Island.

However, if you’re looking for something you can actually play now than the Dead Rising franchise will do just fine. In fact, if you’re looking to get down on this franchise now is a perfect chance. The reason I say this is because the price tag for the game has just been cut from $59.99 all they way down to $29.99 – a 50% savings.

Not too bad – especially for a game that was as well received as Dead Rising 2. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Many different video game developers have made their mark on the community giving hopeful gamers a chance at grabbing the perfect game for them. However, while many games for traditional platforms are priced at $60 there are many games with a much smaller price tag giving gamers a chance at some great gameplay without breaking the ban. One such developer of these games is PopCap who have popular games like Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle.

While PopCap games have grown to be quite popular it seems that the company may be more valuable than we had originally thought. According to recent reports, EA is planning to purchase the indie game developer for a whopping $1 billion. Of course, at this point these reports remain nothing more than rumors so we’ll have to see how this one pans out.

Duke Nukem is one of the many classic FPS franchises that eventually went on to define the genre. As you’re sure to know, Duke Nukem Forever recently hit store shelves after being in development for quite some time. While many fans of the franchise were highly anticipating the release unfortunately it didn’t live up to the hype and received generally poor reception across the board. Due to all of this bad press chances are you’re probably going to be pretty hesitant to spend $60 for the game if you haven’t already made up your mind.

Luckily, it was just made known today that a Duke Nukem Forever demo has been made available on not only Steam but Xbox Live as well. This will give a wide array of consumers the ability to check out the game before actually diving head first into the purchase. If you check it out let us know what you think of it and if you disagree with the

Jimmy Fallon of the Late Night Show is known to feature games and gadgets on his show, and this time, he welcomes two fellows from EA to demonstrate the upcoming Battlefield 3. It’s also the first time we see Battlefield 3 on consoles, a PlayStation 3, to be precise. Watch as they fight their way through a mission, and as Jimmy gets some hands on experience with the game. Suffice to say, it’s the first time he played it.

Sony has released an updated version of the PlayStation 3 console, with a few changes. The weight of the console has been reduced from 3 KG to 2.6 KG, and power consumption has been lowered as well, from 230W to 200W. A few exterior changes have been made as well, with the reorder of buttons and the removal of some LED lights.

The hard drive remains the same: 320 GB for the base version, and the prices will remain the same as well, with a 160GB version for $299 and 320GB for $399. The SKU number for the new model is CECH-3000B. The accessories still include a Dual Shock 3 controller, power cable, AV cable and USB cable — but, still, no HDMI cable.
