The Max Payne franchise is one that just about everyone who has a PS2 will remember. In fact, Max Payne is the franchise that really gave us a hands on for the bullet time slow motion gameplay that was made so famous by The Matrix movie franchise. Unfortunately, while Max Payne eventually did see a second title it is largely considered not up to par with the original leading many hopeful fans for a recoup in the third installment. But, to make matters even worse, the last we’ve even heard of Max Payne 3 was quite some time ago with no official release date currently slated which has had many wondering if the project had been canceled.
Well, if you’re still waiting around to hear about when Max Payne 3 will finally be hitting the market (if ever) you’re in luck. Word has just gotten out that various retailers have begun listing the third installment to the Max Payne franchise (including Amazon.com) with a December 1, 2011 release date for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. At this point we’re not sure or not if we can believe this as no official announcement has been made but we’ll certainly keep you posted as more news leaks out.
