Minecraft has been getting a steady stream of updates from its developer, Mojang Specifications, ever since it secured its place as one of the most popular indie titles of all time. If you’ve played the game you’ll know that despite being full of features there is still quite a ways to go. For example, the game doesn’t really have a beginning or an end right now instead it’s very open ended tasking players with mining materials and building whatever they want. Luckily, the game’s original developer Notch has told us that the game will be getting a lot more depth in the near future with a series of updates – one being Adventures.
Not much is known exactly what Notch means about ‘Adventures’ but it is assumed that a sort of questing system complete with non playable characters will be added. Unfortunately, Notch has taken to his blog today to let us know that the version 1.8 update, which includes Adventures, will not be out for quite some time. On a more positive note, he did let us know that he is planning to release Minecraft version 1.7 this Thursday.
What’s to be included in this update, you ask? Well according to Notch the update will contain nothing more than pistons and some bug fixes butĀ somethingĀ is better than nothing, right?
