Politician resigns over spending campaign money on video games

Ken ArdSouth Carolina Lt. Govenor Ken Ard has resigned over misuse of campaign money, which went to such things as PlayStation 3s, video games, iPads, and a lot of other stuff not associated with getting re-elected, the New York Times reports.

In all, he spent over $12,000 on illegal purchases and is now facing several criminal charges which could end up costing him seven years in prison. Ard, a Republican, has already paid more than $72,000 in fines associated with the scandal.
